  • Patent number: 10218719
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for providing protection against alteration of data, such as a credential, associated with a transaction. A first communication is received from a requesting system. The first communication includes a credential and corresponds to an indication that an extended-duration task is being initiated and a request to listen to a status of the credential. A device-listening data store is updated to associate the credential with an identifier associated with the requesting system. When an event is detected that indicates that the credential has been modified or cancelled, the device-listening data store is queried based on the credential. In response to the query, the identifier associated with the requesting device is received. A second communication is generated that corresponds to an alert that identifies a status of the credential as having been modified or cancelled. The second communication is transmitted to the requesting system.

Abstract: A digital-printing substrate and method of improving adhesion of a substrate to an liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink in LEP printing both employ a composite coating. The composite coating includes from 4.5% to 9.5% by weight of a mineral pigment and from 0.5% to 2% by weight of an organic binder uniformly dispersed in water. The mineral pigment has a particle size less than 1 micron. The organic binder comprises a hydroxylated polymer having an average molecular weight greater than 50,000. A weight percentage of hydroxyl groups in the hydroxylated polymer is equal to or greater than a weight percentage of acidic groups in an LEP ink. • Patent number: 9968882
Abstract: A heat transfer fluid can be used as part of a multi-phase adsorption environment to allow for improved separations of gas components using a solid adsorbent. The heat transfer fluid can reduce or minimize the temperature increase of the solid adsorbent that occurs during an adsorption cycle. Reducing or minimizing such a temperature increase can enhance the working capacity for an adsorbent and/or enable the use of adsorbents that are not practical for commercial scale adsorption using conventional adsorption methods. The multi-phase adsorption environment can correspond to a trickle bed environment, a slurry environment, or another convenient environment where at least a partial liquid phase of a heat transfer fluid is present during gas adsorption by a solid adsorbent.

  • Patent number: 9959042
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique for dynamically scaling a low-power self-refresh (LPSR) idle interval associated with a solid state drive (SSD) of a user device in order to promote enhanced battery life efficiency within the user device. A determination can be made regarding whether the LPSR idle interval is to be scaled up or scaled down. Specifically, the determination is based on a total elapsed since the user device was first powered on and a total number of LPSR transitions or cycles that have been performed in association with the SSD. In turn, the dynamic scaling of the LPSR idle intervals causes NAND power-cycles to be consumed responsibly over an average system lifetime of the user device, which can result in better power management at the user device.

  • Patent number: 9940238
Abstract: A chip multiprocessor may include a first cluster and a second cluster, each having multiple cores of a processor, multiple co-located cache slices, and a memory controller. The processor stores directory information in a memory to indicate cluster cache ownership of a first address space to the first cluster. In response to a request to change the cluster cache ownership of the first address space to a second address space of the second cluster, the processor provides a quiesce period during which to block new read or write requests to the first cluster and the second cluster; drain read or write requests issued on the first cluster and the second cluster; and remove the block on new read or write requests. The processor may also update the directory information to change the cluster cache ownership of the first address space to the second address space of the second cluster.

  • Patent number: 9938712
Abstract: A fibrous insulation product with improved thermal resistance and method of making it are provided. A plurality of base fibers (e.g. glass) are formed into an insulation product, which may be bindered or unbonded. At least one infrared opacifying agent, such as soot, carbon black or graphite, is applied to the fibrous insulation product such that the base fibers are substantially uniformly coated with opacifying agent. The opacifying agent may be applied, for example, from a fluid suspension or by pulling the fiber through a sooty flame. When opacifying agent applied via a suspension and a binder is desired, it is preferable to avoid binder dispersions that can dislocate the opacifying agent. Alternative binder applications may include co-mingling of base fibers with binder fibers, or other physical or mechanical distributions.
