  • Patent number: 9690706
Abstract: Resolving coherency issues inherent in sharing distributed cache is described. A chip multiprocessor may include at least first and second processing clusters, each having multiple cores of a processor, multiple cache slices co-located with the multiple cores, and a memory controller (MC). The processor stores directory information in a memory coupled to the processor to indicate cluster cache ownership of a first address space to the first cluster. In response to a request to change the cluster cache ownership of the first address space, the processor may remap first lines of first cache slices, corresponding to the first address space, to second lines in second cache slices of the second cluster, and update the directory information (e.g., a state of the first cache lines) to change the cluster cache ownership of the first address space to the second cluster. One of the MCs may manage such updating of the directory.

  • Publication number: 20170173172
Abstract: A composition comprising poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) hydroxyl-terminated dendrimers covalently linked to at least one therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent for the treatment or alleviation of one or more symptoms of a brain tumor have been developed. The dendrimers comprise one or more ethylene diamine-core poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) hydroxyl-terminated generation-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10, most preferably generation 6 (G4-10-OH) dendrimers. The G6 dendrimers have demonstrated unexpectedly high uptake into the brain. The dendrimers provide a means for selective delivery through the blood brain barrier (“BBB”) of chemotherapeutic, immunotherapeutic and palliative agents. The dendrimers also have the advantage that two different classes of compounds, having one or more mechanisms of action can be bound to the dendrimers, providing simultaneous delivery. The dendrimers may be administered alone by intravenous injection, or as part of a multi-prong therapy with radiation.

  • Publication number: 20170087506
Abstract: A heat transfer fluid can be used as part of a multi-phase adsorption environment to allow for improved separations of gas components using a solid adsorbent. The heat transfer fluid can reduce or minimize the temperature increase of the solid adsorbent that occurs during an adsorption cycle. Reducing or minimizing such a temperature increase can enhance the working capacity for an adsorbent and/or enable the use of adsorbents that are not practical for commercial scale adsorption using conventional adsorption methods. The multi-phase adsorption environment can correspond to a trickle bed environment, a slurry environment, or another convenient environment where at least a partial liquid phase of a heat transfer fluid is present during gas adsorption by a solid adsorbent.

  • Publication number: 20170052583
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique for dynamically scaling a low-power self-refresh (LPSR) idle interval associated with a solid state drive (SSD) of a user device in order to promote enhanced battery life efficiency within the user device. A determination can be made regarding whether the LPSR idle interval is to be scaled up or scaled down. Specifically, the determination is based on a total elapsed since the user device was first powered on and a total number of LPSR transitions or cycles that have been performed in association with the SSD. In turn, the dynamic scaling of the LPSR idle intervals causes NAND power-cycles to be consumed responsibly over an average system lifetime of the user device, which can result in better power management at the user device.

  • Publication number: 20160378798
Abstract: Sequences of hierarchical records are aggregated and summarized. A capture log that includes a plurality of operations of a workload is received. A first data structure that models transaction types as sequences of nodes is created. The nodes identify operations in the workload. A present operation and a transaction identifier are read from the capture log. The transaction identifier is dissociated from a first node that identifies a prior operation. The transaction identifier is associated with a second node that identifies the present operation. In a second data structure that associates nodes with transaction identifiers, the first node is dissociated from the transaction identifier and the second node is associated with the transaction identifier. A summary of the workload is generated based, at least in part, on the first and second data structures. The summary includes signatures of transaction types and counts of instances of the transaction types.
