  • Patent number: 11321190
Abstract: An improved content indexing (CI) system is disclosed herein. For example, the improved CI system may include a distributed architecture of client computing devices, media agents, a single backup and CI database, and a pool of servers. After a file backup occurs, the backup and CI database may include file metadata indices and other information associated with backed up files. Servers in the pool of servers may, in parallel, query the backup and CI database for a list of files assigned to the respective server that have not been content indexed. The servers may then request a media agent to restore the assigned files from secondary storage and provide the restored files to the servers. The servers may then content index the received restored files. Once the content indexing is complete, the servers can send the content index information to the backup and CI database for storage.

  • Patent number: 11321183
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein reduce or eliminate a communication bottleneck at the storage manager by reducing communication with the storage manager while maintaining functionality of an information management system. In some implementations, a client obtains information for enabling a secondary storage job (e.g., a backup or restore) from a storage manager and stores the information (which may be referred to as job metadata) in a local cache. The client may then reuse the job metadata for multiple storage jobs reducing the frequency of communication with the storage manager. When a configuration of the information management system changes, or the availability of resources changes, the storage manager can push updates to the job metadata to the clients. Further, a client can periodically request updated job metadata from the storage manager ensuring that the client does not rely on out-of-date job metadata.

  • Publication number: 20220131756
Abstract: A method in which an enterprise switches its devices to various federated network slices across operators based on cost, time, quality, and/or availability parameters defined in flexible rules managed by the enterprise. The method includes obtaining, by a controller of an enterprise, one or more parameters of a device served by a network slice of a core network. The method further includes, based on the one or more parameters of the device and one or more rules, determining, by the controller, whether a triggering event associated with a slice reselection occurred and based on the triggering event and the one or more rules, selecting, by the controller, a federated network slice from among a plurality of network slices provided by a plurality of core networks. The method further includes the controller causing the device to switch from the network slice to the federated network slice.

Abstract: Aspects of a geogrid system for improving substrate interactions within a geotechnical environment is disclosed. In one aspect features of a geogrid system aid in trapping and restraining aggregate and soil. In one aspect a geotechnical environment is configured with a horizontal multilayer mechanically stabilizing geogrid. In said aspect the geogrid is extruded with a polymeric material and a compressible cellular layer. In said aspect, the horizontal multilayer mechanically stabilizing geogrid is comprised of either a cap or a core of polymeric material or is further comprised of at least one compressible cellular layer configured to the polymeric material. Further, the horizontal multilayer mechanically stabilizing geogrid is configured with a triangle or triaxial geometry with patterned discontinuities and a plurality of strong axes. • Patent number: 11301334
Abstract: In certain systems disclosed herein, a distributed data monitoring and management system is provided that can replicate a distributed storage environment. The distributed data monitoring and management system can intelligently and automatically configure data access nodes to form a structure that matches the distributed storage environment. By matching the structure of the distributed storage environment, the distributed structure of the data may be maintained, enabling the data to be backed up from and/or restored to the distributed storage environment and/or migrated to another distributed storage environment without altering the distribution of the data. Further, embodiments herein enable the monitoring of nodes within the system and transfer of data from a non-distributed environment to a distributed storage environment. Thus, in some cases, an entity can migrate data from a local storage structure to a network-based distributed storage structure.

  • Publication number: 20220104816
Abstract: A surgical stapling device includes a body portion that defines a longitudinal axis and a tool assembly that articulates about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis. An articulation link assembly is supported in the body portion and is movable between retracted and advanced positions to pivot the tool assembly between a non-articulated position and articulated positions. The articulation assembly supports an articulation lock assembly that is movable from a locked position to an unlocked position in response to longitudinal movement of the articulation assembly to facilitate articulation of the tool assembly. The articulation lock assembly stabilize the articulation link assembly within the body portion when the surgical stapling device is fired to minimize occurrence of tremors in the tool assembly.

Abstract: Method and systems for creating a sequence of fused instructions. An instruction stream is obtained, and a window of instructions from the instruction stream is examined and one or more groups of instructions that satisfy one or more fusion rules are identified. One or more of the groups of instructions that satisfy the one or more fusion rules are fused and a maximal length data dependence chain in the instruction stream is analyzed by analyzing every node in a dependence graph in a selected window of instructions. Fusion of an instruction group is prevented based on the maximal length data dependence chain.

  • Patent number: 11294871
Abstract: A deduplicated storage system is provided according to certain embodiments that uses one or more mechanisms to update the deduplication database and remove records corresponding to data blocks that have been or will be erased from the secondary copies, without using or tracking reference counting values. Some embodiments described herein use a secondary table (for tracking archive file contents) and a bitmap to mark which primary records are present in the secondary table. In another embodiment, once the marking phase is completed, the deduplication system uses the marked-up bitmap to identify the corresponding records from the primary table that can be moved to another table for storing “zero-reference” data blocks. In other embodiments, the system will then traverse the “zero-reference” table and remove those primary data blocks from secondary storage devices.
