Abstract: Problem to be Solved There is a need for a new antibiotic having a novel mechanism of action which exhibit strong antibacterial activity not only against sensitive bacteria but also against resistant bacteria thereof, and at the same time possesses excellent solubility an a safety profile amenable to human use. Solution to the Problem As a result of intensive research, the present inventors have found that a compound represented by general formula (I), a stereoisomer, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof inhibits DNA gyrase GyrB subunit and/or topoisomerase IV ParE subunit possesses excellent solubility and a safety profile for use in humans for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases.

Abstract: A system according to certain aspects may include a secondary storage controller computer configured to: in response to a first instruction to obtain a first secondary copy of a first data set from a secondary storage device(s), the first instruction associated with a first restore operation: instantiate a first restore thread on a processor of the secondary storage controller computer; using the first restore thread, retrieve the first secondary copy from the secondary storage device(s); and forward the retrieved first secondary copy to a primary storage subsystem for storage; and in response to a second instruction to obtain a second secondary copy of a second data set from the secondary storage device(s), the second instruction associated with a second restore operation: using the first restore thread, retrieve the second secondary copy from the secondary storage device(s); and forward the retrieved second secondary copy to the primary storage subsystem for storage.

Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture are disclosed for building and executing analytics solutions. Such a solution may provide a comprehensive analytics solution (e.g., a risk assessment, fraud detection solution, dynamic operational risk evaluations, regulatory compliance assessments, etc.). The analytics solution may perform an analytics task using operational data distributed across a variety of independently created and governed data repositories in different departments of an organization. A framework is disclosed which allows a user (e.g., a risk analyst) to compose analytical tools that can access data from a variety of sources (both internal and external to an enterprise) and perform a variety of analytic functions.

Abstract: A system according to certain embodiments associates a signature value corresponding to a data block with one or more data blocks and a reference to the data block to form a signature/data word corresponding to the data block. The system further logically organizes the signature/data words into a plurality of files each comprising at least one signature/data word such that the signature values are embedded in the respective file. The system according to certain embodiments reads a previously stored signature value corresponding to a respective data block for sending from a backup storage system having at least one memory device to a secondary storage system.

Abstract: The library server according to certain aspects can manage the use of tape drives according to the data requirements of different storage operation cells. The library server according to certain aspects can also facilitate automatic management of tape media in a tape library by allocating the tapes and slots to different cells. For instance, the library server can manage the positioning and placement of the tapes into appropriate slots within the tape library.

Abstract: A computer process including receiving first patient bone data of a patient leg and foot in a first pose, the first pose comprising a position and orientation of the patient leg relative to the patient foot as defined in the first patient bone data. The computer process may further include receiving second patient bone data of the patient leg and foot in a second pose, the second pose comprising a position and orientation of the patient leg relative to the patient foot as defined in the second patient bone data. The computer process may further include generating a 3D bone model of the patient leg and foot. Finally, the computer process may include modifying the 3D bone model of the patient leg and foot such that the plurality of 3D bone models are reoriented into a third pose that matches the second pose.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media support provisioning a computer application that is executed on an associated computing component through a primary computing component. Even though different passwords may be associated with a user for the primary and the associated computing components, one aspect is seamless single sign-on to a computer cluster that provides the external computer application so that any user or group membership changes at the primary computing component is transparent to the associated computing component. Users may be restricted service for the application at the edge nodes of the cluster and are then able to access data in directories corresponding to the user's group as configured at the primary computing component. A batch process may be initiated to issue a security token to one more users, thus enabling the user to obtain a service ticket and consequently service for the application.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an authorized signing authority server receives an authenticity request from a security registrar to vouch for authenticity of a particular device. Based on receiving the authenticity request, the authorized signing authority server may then determine an authenticity state of the particular device, and may also request a device provisioning file for the particular device from a device provisioning server, the device provisioning file defining one or more network security policies for the particular device. Upon receiving the device provisioning file from the device provisioning server, the authorized signing authority server may then return the authenticity state and the device provisioning file for the particular device to the security registrar, causing the security registrar to complete authentication of the particular device based on the authenticity state and the device provisioning file.

Abstract: An illustrative approach to managing snapshots streamlines how and when snapshots are generated in a storage management system, such that fewer snapshots may be generated without diminishing the scope of data protection. A novel unified-snapshot storage policy may govern snapshots for any number of subclients. A unified-snapshot job based on the unified-snapshot storage policy enables the illustrative storage management system to automatically discover relevant components and generate at most one snapshot per target logical unit number (“LUN”) in a storage array. Each snapshot may comprise the data of any number of subclients and/or clients in the storage management system. Accordingly, one unified-snapshot job may yield a minimum but sufficient number of snapshots comprising data of all subclients associated with the governing unified-snapshot storage policy. An enhanced storage manager may manage the unified-snapshot jobs.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a network controller for a computer network receives details of a provisioned device and policy requirements for the provisioned device. The network controller may then determine, based on the details and policy requirements for the provisioned device, a plurality of network devices that the provisioned device is configured to communicate through, and may then translate the details and policy requirements for the provisioned device into a plurality of network-device-specific policies, each respective network-device-specific policy corresponding to one of the plurality of network devices that the provisioned device is configured to communicate through. As such, the network controller may then transmit a respective network-device-specific policy of the plurality of network-device-specific policies to the plurality of network devices that the provisioned device is configured to communicate through.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process of conjugation to obtain synthetic oligosaccharide-protein (OS-PR) conjugates. The process of synthetic OS-PR conjugation is a rapid process providing oligosaccharide-protein conjugates which are highly immunogenic and elicit specific and homogenous immune responses. The synthetic oligosaccharide comprising of four to eight repeating units of respective monomers and at least one in-built terminal amino linker, said synthetic polysaccharide mimics natural polysaccharide obtained from gram negative bacteria such as Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, W, X and Haemophilus influenzae and carrier protein is obtained from gram positive bacteria such as Clostridium tetani (tetanus toxoid) or Corynebacterium diphtheriae (CRM197) or their recombinant versions. The conjugation chemistry of the said oligosaccharide-protein conjugate of the present invention is thio-ether linkage. The present invention takes complete process time in the range of 14-22 hours.

Abstract: An integral geogrid includes a plurality of interconnected, oriented strands having an array of openings therein that is produced from a coextruded multilayer polymer sheet starting material. By virtue of the construction, the coextruded multilayer sheet components provide a crystalline synergistic effect during extrusion and orientation of the integral geogrid, resulting in enhanced material properties that provide performance benefits to use of the integral geogrid in soil geosynthetic reinforcement.

Abstract: A system and method for block-based restarts are described. A data storage system interfaces with one or more nodes of a network file system on which a volume is provided in order to read data stored on the volume on a block-by-block basis. Backup data sets capable of recreating the data on the volume are generated from the data blocks read from the volume. The system can interface with a backup memory resource and write the backup data sets to the backup memory resource in a sequential order. As the backup data sets are generated and written to the backup memory resource, restart checkpoints for the data set are also regularly generated and stored for use in restarting the backup process in the event of a recoverable failure in the transfer.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods in which a surgeon can use computer-implemented deformity assessment and correction tools to create 3D models of a bone. To ensure adequate healing, a surgeon may choose to use a prefabricated bone plate, a semi-customized bone plate, or a fully-customized bone plate to hold first and second bone portions in a corrected position. To select the appropriate prefabricated bone plate, the surgeon may identify three landmark locations on the first and second bone portions corresponding to desired fixation hole locations on the bone plate. The surgeon can then use a software application to evaluate multiple bone plate designs in a library and compare the average proximity of the landmark locations to fixation hole locations on each of the bone plate designs. Then, the surgeon can determine which bone plate design best fits the patient anatomy based on his comparison.

Abstract: The present invention is in the field of personal care compositions; in particular skin lightening compositions. It is believed that niacinamide reduces the melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes thereby bringing about skin lightening. However, niacinamide is known to have little or no effect directly on the melanin content in the melanocytes. Thus a composition with multiple modes of action, that combines the reduction of melanosome transfer and the reduction of melanin content in the melanocytes remains to be desired. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a composition with synergistic amounts of picolinamide and niacinamide, providing improved melanosome transfer inhibition. It has been found that a synergistic skin lightening effect is obtained when niacinamide is combined with its isomer, picolinamide.
