Abstract: Disclosed herein are external fixation frames for correcting bone deformities. The external fixation frames include a top fixation ring and a bottom fixation ring coupled to one another by at least two struts. A half ring is coupled to bottom fixation ring. The bottom fixation ring is u-shaped. One or more rocker members may be coupled to the bottom fixation ring. The half ring may be hingedly coupled to the bottom fixation ring such that it can rotate with respect to the bottom fixation ring from a first position to a second position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to synthesis of novel higher oligomers and process of preparing the same. In particular the present invention relates to the chemical synthesis of oligomers of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup X (‘hereinafter Men-X), more particularly tetramer. The present invention provides Men-X capsular oligomers obtained from synthetic pathway using purified saccharides of specific chain length and provides said novel oligomers as candidates for the development of conjugate vaccine against bacterial meningitis caused due to Men-X infections.

Abstract: Techniques for detecting and/or handling target attacks in an enterprise's email channel are provided. The techniques include receiving aspects of an incoming email message addressed to a first email account holder, selecting a recipient interaction profile and/or a sender profile from a plurality of predetermined profiles stored in a memory based upon the received properties, determining a message trust rating associated with the incoming email message based upon the incoming email message and the selected recipient interaction profile and/or the sender profile; and generating an alert identifying the incoming email message as including a security risk based upon the determined message trust rating.

Abstract: An information management system can manage the removal of data block entries in a deduplicated data store using working copies of the data block entries residing in a local data store of a secondary storage computing device. The system can use the working copies to identify data blocks for removal. Once the deduplication database is updated with the changes to the working copies (e.g., using a transaction based update scheme), the system can query the deduplication database for the database entries identified for removal. Once identified, the system can remove the database entries identified for pruning and/or the corresponding deduplication data blocks from secondary storage.

Abstract: Content-aware systems and methods for improving de-duplication, or single instancing, in storage operations. In certain examples, backup agents on client devices parse application-specific data to identify data objects that are candidates for de-duplication. The backup agents can then insert markers or other indictors in the data that identify the location(s) of the particular data objects. Such markers can, in turn, assist a de-duplication manager to perform object-based de-duplication and increase the likelihood that like blocks within the data are identified and single instanced. In other examples, the agents can further determine if a data object of one file type can or should be single-instanced with a data object of a different file type. Such processing of data on the client side can provide for more efficient storage and back-end processing.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for achieving progressive reduction of flue gas is disclosed. Accordingly, an aspect of the present invention is to provide an apparatus comprising of an orifice chamber having an inlet pipe for receiving the flue gas, a flow region defined downstream of an exit of the inlet pipe and having at least a first section and a second section, and an outlet pipe to disperse a pressure reduced flue gas. The first section defined downstream of the inlet pipe has a flow developer means and at least one auxiliary orifice plate. The second section defined downstream of the first section has a plurality of orifice plates spaced apart along a flow length of the second section.

Abstract: A scalable approach is disclosed for processing auxiliary-copy jobs in a storage management system by using distributed media agent resources instead of a centralized storage manager. Enhanced media agents coordinate and control auxiliary-copy jobs and tap the storage manager to reserve data streams and provide job-specific metadata on demand. An enhanced storage manager may initially select a media agent as “coordinator” to coordinate auxiliary-copy jobs with any number of other media agents, which act as “controllers.” A coordinator media agent is generally responsible for obtaining data stream reservation information from the storage manager and assigning auxiliary-copy jobs to respective controller media agents, based on the components involved in the respective reserved data streams.

Abstract: A method and system for providing information management of data from hosted services receives information management policies for a hosted account of a hosted service, requests data associated with the hosted account from the hosted service, receives data associated with the hosted account from the hosted service, and provides a preview version of the received data to a computing device. In some examples, the system indexes the received data to associate the received data with a user of an information management system, and/or provides index information related to the received data to the computing device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to assisting forwarding of multicast traffic over Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) from a multicast source to a host multi-homed to multiple provider edge (PE) devices. Embodiments are based on the inclusion of an Ethernet Segment Identification (ESI) to EVPN type-6 routes advertised by PE devices which received a multicast Join message. Other PE devices receiving such routes are able to determine whether they belong to the ES identified by the ESI and to determine whether they are designated forwarders (DFs) for the host. Furthermore, PE devices which are the DFs are configured to re-originate the EVPN type-6 routes, i.e. re-send the advertisements, indicating themselves as DFs. This ensures that a remote PE device associated with the multicast source will also send multicast traffic to such DF PE devices, which, in turn, would allow the multicast traffic to successfully reach the host.

Abstract: A method and system for reducing storage requirements and speeding up storage operations by reducing the storage of redundant data includes receiving a request that identifies one or more data objects to which to apply a storage operation. For each data object, the storage system determines if the data object contains data that matches another data object to which the storage operation was previously applied. If the data objects do not match, then the storage system performs the storage operation in a usual manner. However, if the data objects do match, then the storage system may avoid performing the storage operation.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a bone plating system and a method for utilizing the same. The bone plating system may include first and second bone plates in contact with respective first and second bones, a cross-connector, a cutting guide and a targeter device. The cross-connector may have a first end and an opposite second extending along a longitudinal axis from the first bone plate to the second bone plate. The cutting guide may have an elongate body placed on one of the first or second bones. The targeter device may have a drill guide to align the cross-connector with the first and second bone plates. A method for fixing the bone plating system to the first and second bone may include using the targeter device.

Abstract: According to certain aspects, a method can include receiving an indication that a restoration of a deduplication database using a secondary copy of a file associated with a secondary copy job is complete; retrieving a first data fingerprint from a data storage database, wherein the first data fingerprint is associated with the secondary copy job used to restore the deduplication database; retrieving a second data fingerprint from a deduplication database media agent, wherein the second data fingerprint is associated with the secondary copy job used to restore the deduplication database; comparing the first data fingerprint with the second data fingerprint to determine whether the first data fingerprint and the second data fingerprint match; and transmitting an instruction to the deduplication database media agent to rebuild the restored deduplication database in response to a determination that the first data fingerprint and the second data fingerprint do not match.

Abstract: An external fixation system and method for realigning, compressing or distracting broken bones has a planar ring element with an adjustable device having a body releasably mounted on the ring element. The adjustable device includes a first member for movement in a direction generally perpendicular to the ring element. A second member is mounted on the first member for movement in a direction parallel to the first member and with respect to a circumference of the planar ring element. The method includes inserting a k-wire through a first piece of bone and affixing the k-wire to the ring element. Then inserting a second k-wire through a second piece of bone and affixing the k-wire to the adjustable device second member. The pieces of bone are realigned, compressed or distracted by adjusting at least one of a first and second adjustable members forming the device.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods are provided that relate to shared access to Storage Area Networks (SAN) devices. In one embodiment, a Storage Area Network (SAN) host is provided, comprising: a server component: a first host bus adapter configured to be connected to a SAN client over a first SAN; a second host bus adapter configured to be connected to a SAN storage device over a second SAN; and wherein the server component is configured to manage a data block on the SAN storage device, receive a storage operation request from the SAN client through the first host bus adapter, and in response to the storage operation request, perform a storage operation on the data block, the storage operation being performed over the second SAN through the second host bus adapter.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine readable mediums that automatically determine a set of one or more rules for finding items of content with high precision and high-recall. The disclosed methods enable applications to find content in rapidly changing datasets such as microblogs and other social networking feeds with a high precision and high recall, improving the accuracy of the application.

Abstract: A softwall containment system for a machine includes an inner wall circumscribing a bladed rotatable member of the machine and extending from a forward end to an aft end. The softwall containment system also includes an outer wall circumscribing the inner wall and extending from a forward end to an aft end. The outer wall is spaced radially outwardly from the inner wall. The outer wall extends axially between a first joint coupling the forward end of the inner wall to the forward end of the outer wall and a second joint coupling the aft end of the inner wall to the aft end of the outer wall. The softwall containment system also includes an anti-ballistic material wrap covering the outer wall, the anti-ballistic material wrap including at least one of a first extension extending forward of the first joint and a second extension extending aft of the second joint.
