Abstract: An information management system is provided herein that combines data backup and data migration operations such that data appears available in a network-accessible folder when in fact the data is stored as a secondary copy in a secondary storage device. For example, a user can indicate that a first file should be added to the network-accessible folder. A client computing device can transmit the first file to a secondary storage computing device that performs a backup operation to store a backup copy of the first file in the secondary storage device. The secondary storage computing device can also generate an index of the first file, which includes a location of the backup copy of the first file, and transmit the index to a server that manages the network-accessible folder. Thus, the backup copy of the first file can be retrieved if the first file is selected via the network-accessible folder.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing pod cells using a global repository cell (GRC), as well as providing cloud-based storage to the pod cells and the GRC, are described. In some embodiments, the cloud-based storage enables an enterprise, or multiple enterprises to sync the operations between a master cell (e.g. the GRC) and one or more pod cells. For example, when there is no network connectivity between the GRC and its pod cells (e.g., the GRC and the pod cells are part of different enterprises or otherwise not under a common enterprise or organization), the cloud-based storage may act as an intermediate storage device or system between the GRC and its associated pod cells.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for efficiently accessing a secondary storage in highly available clustered storage environment may include receiving a client-initiated data request at a secondary server coupled to a secondary storage; determining request information about the client-initiated data request; determining with the secondary server whether to process the client-initiated data request on the secondary storage based on the determined request information; and responsive to determining that the secondary server should process the client-initiated data request, processing the client-initiated data request by the secondary server to retrieve data from the secondary storage.

Abstract: An external fixation frame for correcting a bone deformity includes a first fixation ring and a second fixation ring. A posterior adjustable length strut couples a posterior portion of the first fixation ring to a posterior portion of the second fixation ring and has universal joint. Medial and lateral adjustable length struts couple medial and lateral portions of the first fixation ring to medial and lateral portions of the second fixation ring respectively, each of the medial and lateral adjustable length struts including a constrained hinge joint. The fixation frame also includes a half ring coupled to the second fixation ring.

Abstract: A detection device, such as a camera-enabled smart phone, may be used to take one or more pictures of an external fixation frame attached to a patient. The pictures may be transmitted to a computer system accessible by the patient's physician. The computer system may uniquely identify each strut of the external fixation frame and determine the length of each strut. The computer system may compare the determined length of each strut to a planned length of the struts for a particular time interval as outlined in a correction plan. If the struts are the correct length for the particular time interval, the fact may be indicated to the physician and transmitted to the patient. If the struts are not the correct length, the computer system may update the correction plan to account for the discrepancy plan, with the updated correction plan transmitted to the patient.

Abstract: A containment structure for surrounding a rotatable machine includes a double-walled inner shell having a forward end, an aft end, and a substantially cylindrical body extending therebetween. The inner shell includes an inner wall at least partially surrounding a bladed portion of the bladed rotor, and an outer portion that branches radially outward from the inner wall. The containment structure also includes a substantially cylindrical back sheet coupled to the outer portion and disposed radially outward of the inner wall.

Abstract: A method and system for providing information management of data from hosted services receives information management policies for a hosted account of a hosted service, requests data associated with the hosted account from the hosted service, receives data associated with the hosted account from the hosted service, and provides a preview version of the received data to a computing device. In some examples, the system indexes the received data to associate the received data with a user of an information management system, and/or provides index information related to the received data to the computing device.

Abstract: A method of battery management of an electronic device, the electronic device, and a non-transitory computer readable recording medium are provided. The method includes detecting, by the electronic device, that a battery management criterion is met, enabling at least one of a plurality of battery management functions, in response to detecting that the battery management criterion is met, and performing at least one action corresponding to the enabled at least one of the plurality of the battery management functions.

The methods, in various aspects, may include the step of administering a C5aR antagonist to a subject in need of such treatment. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for automatically configuring newly installed secondary storage computing devices and managing secondary storage computing devices when one or more become unavailable. For example, a storage manager can then detect the computing resources available to the newly installed secondary storage computing device, assign a role to the newly installed secondary storage computing device based on the detected computing resources, configure the newly installed secondary storage computing device with deduplication and storage policies used by the other secondary storage computing devices, re-partition secondary storage devices to allocate memory for the newly installed secondary storage computing device, and instruct other secondary storage computing devices to replicate their managed data such that the newly installed secondary storage computing device has access to the replicated data.

Abstract: A method and system for reducing storage requirements and speeding up storage operations by reducing the storage of redundant data includes receiving a request that identifies one or more data objects to which to apply a storage operation. For each data object, the storage system determines if the data object contains data that matches another data object to which the storage operation was previously applied. If the data objects do not match, then the storage system performs the storage operation in a usual manner. However, if the data objects do match, then the storage system may avoid performing the storage operation.

Abstract: The disclosed techniques that can use deduplication information on a source computer platform to improve the process of performing data backups or restoration from/to the computer platform. In one example aspect, a data backup operation can re-use some of the work already done by a source computer's deduplication system. For example, a storage operation could read a deduplication database on the source computer platform to determine the duplicativeness of a given data chunk being transferred to a backup storage system, without having to perform computations such as data chunk hashing and comparison with previously generated hashes. The technique may additionally or alternatively reuse hashes generated by the source computer during deduplication of the data file on the source computer's file system during deduplication at the external backup storage system.

Abstract: A system may receive a query configured to access a column in a data table. The data table may be in a flat file in a big data storage format. The system may detect the language type of the query and validate the query against the syntax of the language type. The system may also validate an access permission for data in the data table. The access permission may be stored in a permissions database. The system may generate a temporary table including the column with the temporary table configured to support the language type. The system may execute the query against the temporary table to generate a query result based on the temporary table as though it were the underlying data table. The system may enforce column-level or row-level access permissions by excluding columns or rows from the temporary table.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device includes forming a first well region in a semiconductor substrate, forming isolation structures on the semiconductor substrate, and forming second well regions and a third well region in the first well region, wherein the second well regions are isolated from the third well region by the isolation structures, and two of the adjacent second well regions have a first distance between them. The method also includes performing a rapid thermal annealing process to shorten the first distance to a second distance. The method further includes forming first barrier metal layers on the first well region and covering the second well regions, forming a second barrier metal layer on the first well region and covering the third well region, forming first electrodes on the first barrier metal layers, and forming a second electrode on the second barrier metal layer.

Abstract: An adjustable length strut includes two joints, a threaded rod extending between the joints, and a tube adapted to receive the threaded rod. An actuation mechanism with gear teeth extending radially outward of the strut axis is rotatably fixed to the threaded rod. A protrusion may be coupled to an end of the threaded rod by a rotatable collar, with the protrusion extending through a slot in the tube to mark the length of the strut. A modular attachment member may be adapted to be couple to the first joint and include a worm gear adapted to engage gear teeth of the actuation mechanism. The modular attachment member may include a radiofrequency identity tag mechanism adapted to be read by a tag reader of a tool, the tool adapted to couple to the attachment member to rotate the worm gear to increase or decrease the effective length of the strut.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for extracting actionable information from emails in a completely unsupervised manner with no need for the data to be labeled (i.e., the systems and methods do not a human to identify unlabeled or relabeled emails). Changes in the email structure are automatically incorporated to learn new templates through the novel concept of sub-templates. The systems and methods incorporate the minor variations in email structure seamlessly, without needing to introduce new templates. Email templates are computed as permutations of multiple sub-templates in the email, which allows the systems and methods to handle variations in email structure seamlessly and highly efficiently. These systems and methods are extendable to any domain using structured emails, and improve the efficiency of the systems that receive and act on information contained in emails.

Abstract: Systems and methods for HVAC system design and zone group management are disclosed. A floor plan of a building is received, and an HVAC system configuration is selected from among a set of template HVAC configurations. HVAC components are selected from set of template HVAC components to customize the configuration. As components are selected, candidate positions for the HVAC component within the HVAC system configuration are determined and presented to a user to ensure compliance with engineering requirements. The floor plan includes a mapping of an HVAC system configuration to an HVAC zone group. If a change is made to the HVAC system configuration of a zone associated with a zone group, it is determined if another zone group shares the same properties as the changed HVAC configuration. If one exists, the changes]d zone is moved to the new zone group. If not, a new zone group is created and the changes zone is moved to the new zone group.
