  • Publication number: 20160216903
Abstract: A scalable approach is disclosed for processing auxiliary-copy jobs in a storage management system by using distributed media agent resources instead of a centralized storage manager. Enhanced media agents coordinate and control auxiliary-copy jobs and tap the storage manager to reserve data streams and provide job-specific metadata on demand. An enhanced storage manager may initially select a media agent as “coordinator” to coordinate auxiliary-copy jobs with any number of other media agents, which act as “controllers.” A coordinator media agent is generally responsible for obtaining data stream reservation information from the storage manager and assigning auxiliary-copy jobs to respective controller media agents, based on the components involved in the respective reserved data streams.

  • Patent number: 9400700
Abstract: A graph processing system includes a graph API (Application Program Interface), as executed on a processor of a computer and as capable of implementing any of a plurality of graph operators to express computations of input graph analytics applications. A run-time system, executed by the processor, implements graph operators specified by each graph API function and deploys the implemented graph operators to a selected computing system. A library contains multiple implementations for each graph API function, each implementation predetermined as being optimal for a specific set of conditions met by a graph being processed, for functional capabilities of a specific computing system on which the graph is being processed, and for resources available on that specific computing system.

  • Publication number: 20160212646
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring presence of a remote device at Layer 2 that allow reducing power consumption without compromising the device's availability. A device that pairs with a remote wireless device may establish a Layer 3 connection, such as an IP connection, to the remote device to provide services to a user. The Layer 3 connection may be formed over a Layer 2 connection via an access point or as a peer-to-peer wireless connection between the devices. When the Layer 3 connection is not actively used to access the remote device, the Layer 3 connection and the supporting Layer 2 connection (e.g., WI-FI, WI-FI DIRECT™ or BLUETOOTH®) may be terminated and presence of the remote device may be monitored using a Layer 2 device discovery mechanism. The Layer 2 and Layer 3 connections to the device may be reestablished when use of the remote device is desired.

  • Publication number: 20160143896
Abstract: Chiral 1-(4-methylphenylmethyl)-5-oxo-{N-[(3-t-butoxycarbonyl-aminomethyl)]-piperidin-1-yl}-pyrrolidine-2-carboxamides as inhibitors of collagen induced platelet activation and adhesion. The present invention provides chiral (2S)-1-(4-methyl-phenylmethyl)-5-oxo-(3S)-{N-[(3-t-butoxycarbonyl aminomethyl)]-piperidin-1-yl}-pyrrolidine-2-carboxamide, and (2S)-1-(4-methylphenylmethyl)-5-oxo-(3R)-{N-[(3-t-butoxycarbonyl amino methyl)]-piperidin-1-yl}-pyrrolidine-2-carboxamide of formula 6 and 7 respectively. The present invention also relates to use of these moieties as inhibitors of collagen induced platelet adhesion and aggregation mediated through collagen receptors. The present invention provides a process for preparation of chiral carboxamides of formula 6 and 7 using the process which has advantage to avoid any racemization at the a-carboxylic center, during N-alkylation. The reagent LiHMDS is used at low temperatures to furnish methyl N-(p-methylphenylmethyl)1pyroglutamate in good chiral purity.

  • Publication number: 20160142483
Abstract: An illustrative approach to managing snapshots streamlines how and when snapshots are generated in a storage management system, such that fewer snapshots may be generated without diminishing the scope of data protection. A novel unified-snapshot storage policy may govern snapshots for any number of subclients. A unified-snapshot job based on the unified-snapshot storage policy enables the illustrative storage management system to automatically discover relevant components and generate at most one snapshot per target logical unit number (“LUN”) in a storage array. Each snapshot may comprise the data of any number of subclients and/or clients in the storage management system. Accordingly, one unified-snapshot job may yield a minimum but sufficient number of snapshots comprising data of all subclients associated with the governing unified-snapshot storage policy. An enhanced storage manager may manage the unified-snapshot jobs.

  • Publication number: 20160132284
Abstract: A method for display mirroring is described. The method includes computing an updating region size for one or more application layers of a screen image, the updating region area regions of interest being updated on the screen image less any overlap between the regions of interest. The method also includes determining that the updating region size plus a previous frame size is less than a frame buffer size. The method further includes determining that there are sufficient resources available to combine the previous frame with the updating region. The method additionally includes generating a current frame by combining the previous frame and the updating region. The method also includes sending the current frame to a mirrored display.
