  • Patent number: 9610102
Abstract: A method of correcting a bone deformity includes fixing first and second support members to first and second fragments of a bone, respectively. The first support member may have a receiver connected thereto. First and second tracking devices are connected to the first and second bone fragments, respectively. A deformity correction plan is determined, and a position of the first support member is adjusted relative to the second support member based on the plan. Location data is transmitted from the first and second trackers to the receiver. Based on the tracker location data, a real position of the first and second bone fragments is determined. The real position of the first and second bone fragment is compared to the deformity correction plan, and the deformity correction plan is reprogrammed based on the comparison. The first and second support members may then be adjusted based on the reprogrammed deformity correction plan.

  • Publication number: 20170090773
Abstract: An information management system according to certain aspects uses backup copies or other secondary copies of production data for the purposes of replicating production data to another client. The secondary copies can be deduplicated copies. By utilizing available secondary copies of the data for replication, the system can reduce the impact on the production machines associated with replication. Utilizing deduplicated copies not only reduces the amount of stored data, but also reduces the amount of data that is communicated between the source and the destination, increasing the speed of the replication process.

  • Publication number: 20170091299
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or computing devices are provided for data synchronization. For example, an in-flight log may be maintained to track storage operations that are received by a first storage node, but have not been committed to both first storage of the first storage node and second storage of a second storage node that has a replication relationship, such as a disaster recovery relationship, with the first storage node. A dirty region log may be maintained to track regions within the first storage that have been modified by storage operations that have not been replicated to the second storage. Accordingly, a catchup synchronization phase (e.g., asynchronous replication by a resync scanner) may be performed to replicate storage operations (e.g., replicate data within dirty regions of the first storage that were modified by such storage operations) to the second storage until the first storage and the second storage are synchronized.

  • Publication number: 20170083532
Abstract: An information management system according to certain aspects may determine whether snapshot operations will work prior to executing them. The system may check various factors or parameters relating to a snapshot storage policy to verify whether the storage policy will work at runtime without actually executing the policy. Some examples of factors can include: availability of primary storage devices for which a snapshot should be obtained, availability of secondary storage devices, license availability for snapshot software, user credentials for connecting to primary and/or second storage devices, available storage capacity, connectivity to storage devices, etc. The system may also check whether a particular system configuration is supported in connection with snapshot operations. The result of the determination can be provided in the form of a report summarizing any problems found with the snapshot storage policy.

  • Publication number: 20170083408
Abstract: The disclosed techniques that can use deduplication information on a source computer platform to improve the process of performing data backups or restoration from/to the computer platform. In one example aspect, a data backup operation can re-use some of the work already done by a source computer's deduplication system. For example, a storage operation could read a deduplication database on the source computer platform to determine the duplicativeness of a given data chunk being transferred to a backup storage system, without having to perform computations such as data chunk hashing and comparison with previously generated hashes. The technique may additionally or alternatively reuse hashes generated by the source computer during deduplication of the data file on the source computer's file system during deduplication at the external backup storage system.

  • Publication number: 20170068601
Abstract: A data storage environment can include a secondary storage computing device that acts as a proxy for other secondary storage computing devices. For example, the secondary storage computing device receives a storage operation request from one or more of the other secondary storage computing devices, such as a request to create a snapshot of client data. The secondary storage computing device generally acts as an intermediary between the other secondary storage computing devices and the storage device to carry out the snapshots or other storage operations. The secondary storage computing device may further receive a notification upon completion of the storage operations, and transmit relevant data to the requesting secondary storage computing device regarding the storage operation.

  • Patent number: 9573865
Abstract: A process for increasing the yield of C3 olefin in fluidized bed catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon feedstocks is disclosed. C4 fraction produced from the cracking of hydrocarbon feedstock in the primary reaction zone (riser), optionally with external source of C4 stream is fed into the stripper which acts as a secondary reaction zone at an elevated temperature and at an optimum WHSV. The elevated temperature is achieved by injecting a part of the regenerated catalyst from regenerator, which is at a higher temperature, directly into the stripper through a dedicated additional lift line. This raises the activity of catalyst inside the stripper. The direct injection of regenerated catalyst into the stripper, besides producing higher yields of propylene, improves the stripping efficiency leading to enhanced recovery of strippable hydrocarbons.
