  • Publication number: 20090248620
Abstract: Extraction methods can interact on a common data source using identifiers that correspond to events or other actions. These identifiers can be updated, whenever appropriate, once the corresponding data has been summarized, in order to provide for multiple extraction methods to operate only on the data of interest, and obtain a lock only on the data within the scope of extraction. High water marks, such as identifiers in the sequent, can be used to further designate which data has previously been extracted. Similarly, summarization methods can interact by utilizing corresponding persistent tables in the flows for the methods, but utilizing separate intermediate tables to allow for data transformations and application of various business rules and tuning techniques. The ability to switch between different methods can accommodate business, performance, or other such needs, and can provide for the dynamic extraction and summarization of different volumes of data.

  • Patent number: 7590837
Abstract: A system and method for securing and tracking an electronic device. The system includes hardware, software and firmware components that cooperate to allow tracking, disabling, and other interaction with the stolen electronic device. The system includes an application component, non-viewable component and Basic Input/Output Subsystem (BIOS) component that are present on the electronic device. The BIOS component maintains the secured environment of the application and non-viewable components. If only the application component was provided, a simple low level format of the hard disk drive would remove the application and bypass the security features. The system implements an “application and BIOS” based solution to electronic device security.

  • Publication number: 20090113177
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for dynamically booting processor code memory with a wait instruction is presented herein. A wait instruction precedes the transfer of a new code portion to the code memory. The wait instruction causes the processor to temporarily cease using the code memory. When the processor ceases using the code memory, the processor signals a direct memory access (DMA) module to transfer a new code portion to the code memory. The DMA module transfers the new code portion to the code memory and transmits a signal to the processor when the transfer is completed. The signal causes the processor to resume. When the processor resumes, the processor begins executing the instructions at the next code address.

  • Patent number: 7521917
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, the present technique provides a testing apparatus for testing material integrity in an object. The testing apparatus includes an electrical conductor and a sensing device. In the exemplary testing device, the electrical conductor extends in a generally linear direction and is configured to route current in a direction generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the object being tested. Routing of current through the electrical conductor creates remote field eddy current effect, which, in turn, affects a magnetic field around the test object. The testing apparatus also includes a sensing device located at a distance from the electrical conductor and configured to detect magnetic fields generated in response to current routed through the electrical conductor.
