Publication number: 20180331150Abstract: A semiconductor wafer has a plurality of non-rectangular semiconductor die with an image sensor region. The non-rectangular semiconductor die has a circular, elliptical, and shape with non-linear side edges form factor. The semiconductor wafer is singulated with plasma etching to separate the non-rectangular semiconductor die. A curved surface is formed in the image sensor region of the non-rectangular semiconductor die. The non-rectangular form factor effectively removes a portion of the base substrate material in a peripheral region of the semiconductor die to reduce stress concentration areas and neutralize buckling in the curved surface of the image sensor region. A plurality of openings or perforations can be formed in a peripheral region of a rectangular or non-rectangular semiconductor die to reduce stress concentration areas and neutralize buckling. A second semiconductor die can be formed in an area of the semiconductor wafer between the non-rectangular semiconductor die.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2018Publication date: November 15, 2018Applicant: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventors: Ulrich BOETTIGER, Marc Allen SULFRIDGE, Andrew Eugene PERKINS

Publication number: 20180181557Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for generating and applying outgoing communication templates. In various implementations a corpus of outgoing communications sent by a user may be grouped into a plurality of clusters based on one or more attributes of a context of the user. One or more segments of each outgoing communication of a particular cluster may be classified as fixed in response to a determination that a count of occurrences of the one or more segments across the particular cluster satisfies a criterion. One or more remaining segments of each communication of the particular cluster may or may not be classified as transient. Based on sequences of classified segments associated with each communication of the particular cluster, an outgoing communication template may be generated to automatically populate at least a portion of a draft outgoing communication being prepared by the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2018Publication date: June 28, 2018Inventors: Balint Miklos, Julia Proskurnia, Luis Garcia Pueyo, Marc-Allen Cartright, Tobias Kaufmann, Ivo Krka

Patent number: 9998643Abstract: A method for forming curved image sensors may include applying positive pressure to the face of an image sensor, forcing the image sensor to adhere the curved surface of a substrate. The pressure may be applied to the face of the image sensor in a variety of ways, including using pneumatic pressure, hydraulic pressure, or pressure from an elastic or inelastic solid. Processing may occur on either a single image sensor die or an image sensor wafer. When an image sensor wafer is processed, a substrate may be used that has a number of cavities defined by respective curved surfaces with each cavity corresponding to a respective image sensor. When pressure is applied to the image sensor, the image sensor may deform until the curvature of the image sensor matches the curvature of the curved surface of the underlying substrate.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2015Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventors: Marc Allen Sulfridge, Andrew Eugene Perkins, Rickie Charles Lake, Jonathan Michael Stern

Patent number: 9652530Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described herein for generating and applying event data extraction templates. In various implementations, a set of structural paths may be identified from a corpus of communications. A first structural path of the set of structural paths, associated with a first segment of text, may be classified as transient in response to a determination that a frequency of occurrences of the first segment of text across the corpus satisfies a criterion. Event heuristics may be applied to the communications of the corpus. A determination may be made, based on the applying, that the communications of the corpus are event-related. An event data type may be assigned to the transient structural path based on the applying. An event data extraction template may be generated to extract, from one or more subsequent communications, one or more event-related segments of text associated with the transient structural path.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2014Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: GOOGLE INC.Inventors: Mike Bendersky, Maureen Heymans, Jinan Lou, Jie Yang, MyLinh Yang, Amitabh Saikia, Marc-Allen Cartright, Vanja Josifovski, Hui Tan, Luis Garcia Pueyo
