  • Publication number: 20170080630
Abstract: A system and method for bending a hollow core sheet using rods has at least one bendable rod that is inserted inside a channel of a hollow core sheet so as to strengthen it and increase its malleability, which offers the possibility of pliancy to the hollow core sheet so that it can hold a shape. The reinforcing bendable rod is held in place via an applied angled force inside the walls of the channels. The hollow core sheet is then bent into a desired shape to create useful objects.

  • Patent number: 9597509
Abstract: This disclosure describes, among other embodiments, systems and related methods for selecting electrode combinations to be used during nerve pacing procedures. A first set of electrode combinations of a nerve pacing system, such as a phrenic nerve pacing system for diaphragm activation, may be mapped (or tested) to determine the location of the electrode combinations relative to a target nerve. Once the general location of the target nerve is known, a more localized second set of electrode combinations may be tested to determine the most suitable electrode combinations for nerve stimulation. At various stages of the mapping process, electrode combinations that are non-optimal may be discarded as candidates for use in a nerve pacing procedure. The systems and methods described herein may allow for the selection of electrode combinations that are most suitable for stimulation of the left and right phrenic nerves during diaphragm pacing.

  • Publication number: 20170072597
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a monolithic component having internal wall(s), including separately placing uncured composite material on a mold parts, placing the mold parts on a support plate with a portion of the uncured composite material extending between and in contact with the adjacent mold parts, interconnecting the adjacent mold parts through a connection allowing limited relative movement on the support plate along a direction corresponding to a thickness of the uncured composite material therebetween, biasing the adjacent mold part toward each other along the limited relative movement to provide a compressive force on the uncured composite material extending therebetween, and curing the composite material to obtain the monolithic component with each internal wall being formed between adjacent mold parts. The bias causes the adjacent mold parts to move toward each other as the thickness of uncured material extending therebetween reduces during curing. A tool assembly is also discussed.

  • Patent number: 9590401
Abstract: A retainer device for a cable used in an aircraft includes a base. A moveable member is movably connected to the base and forms a channel with the base that is adapted to receive a cable. A pad-deforming portion is defined in the moveable member, which is displaceable between an open position in which a portion, of the moveable member is separated from the base to provide access to the channel, and closed positions, in which the moveable member is releasably connected to the base. A resilient pad is located in the pad-deforming portion to contact the cable received in the channel. The resilient pad is sized to deform from a rest state to a deformed state by the pad-deforming portion during insertion thereinto. The resilient pad is held captive after insertion into the pad-deforming portion by reforming toward the rest state.

  • Patent number: 9583676
Abstract: In a wafer bonding process, one or both of two wafer substrates are scored prior to bonding. By creating slots in the substrate, the wafer's characteristics during bonding are similar to that of a thinner wafer, thereby reducing potential warpage due to differences in CTE characteristics associated with each of the wafers. Preferably, the slots are created consistent with the singulation/dicing pattern, so that the slots will not be present in the singulated packages, thereby retaining the structural characteristics of the full-thickness substrates.

  • Publication number: 20170053028
Abstract: Configurations for sharing an instance of an executing process for a plug-in based on a session and a cookie data store associated with the session are disclosed. A cookie data store can be associated with a tab running in a corresponding security mode. By way of example, instead of initiating a new process for the plug-in in a new tab, the subject technology can first determine whether a previous tab is running an instance of a plug-in process. If this is the case, the subject technology can then determine whether the previous tab is running in the same security mode (e.g., protected or unprotected) as the new tab. The subject technology then shares the existing plug-in process in the previous tab without instantiating a new plug-in process in the new tab.

  • Patent number: 9553600
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system, circuit, and method for correcting clock skew in time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters. At least two clock signals are received along respective channels. A delay of a first channel, carrying a first clock signal, is accounted for by applying one or more first adjustment factors to the channels until an edge of the first clock signal is aligned with a transition point of a reference signal. The first clock signal is swapped to the second channel, and vice-versa. A value of the reference signal as sampled by the first clock signal is compared to values of the reference signal as sampled by the second clock signal to determine a skew of the second channel vis-à-vis the first channel, and one or more second adjustment factors are applied to the second channel based on the determined skew of the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20160326711
Abstract: Disclosed is an economical and effective way of producing a modular retaining wall for a material to be retained, using only blocks which in and of themselves are of insufficient thickness to function as retaining wall blocks. The modular wall includes backer blocks and facing blocks which are connected by separate connectors in a back to back, spaced apart arrangement, thereby forming a hollow retaining wall. The hollow wall is filled with loose filler material to increase the mass and retaining capacity of the wall. None of the wall components is embedded in the material to be retained. Further disclosed are wall components and a wall kit for a modular retaining wall. A double sided decorative wall is also disclosed. The modular wall system allows for the construction of retaining walls and freestanding, double sided, decorative walls forming both straight and curved walls.
