  • Publication number: 20160133801
Abstract: A relatively large substrate has a reflective surface, such as a diffusive white surface. LED dies, either as bare LED dies or packaged LED dies, are mounted to the substrate to form separate arrays of LEDs. Each array is intended for a separate mixing chamber. A layer of an encapsulant, such as silicone, is deposited over the substrate to encapsulate the LED dies. A laser etches through the encapsulant to form slots, and a reflective material, such as a white paint, is deposited in the slots to form reflective walls of each mixing chamber. If desired, a phosphor layer is deposited over the encapsulant and reflective walls. The substrate is then singulated to separate out the mixing chambers. Since no discrete parts are assembled, and multiple mixing chambers are formed simultaneously, the resulting mixing chambers are inexpensive and very reliable.

  • Patent number: 9333363
Abstract: This disclosure describes, among other embodiments, systems and related methods for selecting electrode combinations to be used during nerve pacing procedures. A first set of electrode combinations of a nerve pacing system, such as a phrenic nerve pacing system for diaphragm activation, may be mapped (or tested) to determine the location of the electrode combinations relative to a target nerve. Once the general location of the target nerve is known, a more localized second set of electrode combinations may be tested to determine the most suitable electrode combinations for nerve stimulation. At various stages of the mapping process, electrode combinations that are non-optimal may be discarded as candidates for use in a nerve pacing procedure. The systems and methods described herein may allow for the selection of electrode combinations that are most suitable for stimulation of the left and right phrenic nerves during diaphragm pacing.

  • Publication number: 20160113212
Abstract: A sun-tracking light distributor for a photosynthetic culture in an aqueous liquid, comprising: two light distribution walls made of a transparent material, creating an elongated V-shaped channel adapted to receive the sunlight and to be partly immersed in the aqueous liquid, the sun-tracking light distributor has a center of buoyancy, a vertical passing through the center of buoyancy defines an axis of flotation, and a pivot axis of the sun-tracking light distributor is offset relative to the axis of flotation. Owing to the offset pivot axis, the orientation of the light distributor is changed by varying the level of aqueous liquid, thus allowing a tracking of the sun's altitude.

  • Publication number: 20160105551
Abstract: In a cellular communication system a radio terminal registers a network based service, e.g. a Communication Waiting supplementary service. By transmitting a register request comprising a corresponding option tag, the radio terminal explores whether the network supports the requested network based service. In that case a user profile associated with the requesting radio terminal is updated and the radio terminal may henceforth use that service.

  • Patent number: 9306609
Abstract: A front-end of a first differential circuit is DC-coupled to a second differential circuit. The front-end comprises a resistive element, a voltage sensor and a current adjustor. The resistive element has a resistivity between a first end that is DC-coupled to the second circuit and a second end that is DC-coupled to the first circuit and accepts a programmable current passing therethrough to impose a voltage across the element that varies in direction and amplitude according to the current value. The voltage sensor senses a difference between a DC voltage at the second end of the resistive element and a desired reference voltage of the first circuit. The current adjustor adjusts a direction and amplitude of the programmable current so that the voltage of the first circuit matches the desired reference voltage of the first circuit. The first circuit may be a receiver circuit and the second circuit may be a transmitter circuit.
