  • Publication number: 20150234912
Abstract: Systems and methods for serving dynamic content (such as advertisements) in response to dynamic content requests are presented. More particularly, systems and methods for serving dynamic content from dynamic content portfolios directed to trending events and/or topics are presented. Upon receiving a dynamic content request, content classifications corresponding to the requested, published content (i.e., the requested content) that included reserved dynamic content space which initiated the dynamic content request are determined. A current trend is identified in a content classification when the dynamic content request volume for the current trend period exceeds the standard/expected dynamic content request volume for the current trend period by at least a threshold amount. When a trend is detected, candidate content portfolios directed to the trending content classification are selected from a set trending content portfolios.

  • Patent number: 9109860
Abstract: An explosion countermeasure system is provided including a first sensor device with a plurality of accelerometers configured to detect vertical acceleration of a vehicle; a countermeasure; a safe and arming device configured to impede activation of the countermeasure; and a processor in communication with the first sensor device and the safe and arming device. The processor may be configured to process acceleration signals received from the first sensor device and to make ready the safe and arming device and initiate the countermeasure based on results of processing the acceleration signals. Making ready the safe and arming device may be based on an initial acceleration exceeding a first threshold, and initiating the countermeasure may be based on the initial acceleration exceeding a second threshold and a velocity change exceeding a third threshold.

  • Publication number: 20150195483
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes enabling a user of event recorder playback software to select a past time segment of recorded locomotive event data. The method includes presenting recorded video data recorded by one or more cameras on the locomotive during the past time segment, presenting recorded GPS map data indicative of the geographical position of the locomotive during the past time segment, and presenting recorded locomotive operational data recorded during the past time segment. The presentations of recorded video data, recorded GPS map data, and recorded locomotive operational data are synchronized based on a common attribute associated with all of the recorded data. Implementation of a select animation process to one or more of the presentations of recorded data results in the simultaneous implementation of the same select animation process to another of the presentations of recorded data.

  • Publication number: 20150046862
Abstract: A data visualization technique is provided with the capability of manipulating bins of data through an interactive graphical presentation of displayed data. When a histogram is generated from stored data, a user may interact directly with the histogram columns to change columns position, width and height. A user, for example, may click and drag a particular side of a bin to change the lower or upper limit of the bin, click and drag the top of a bin to change the size/height of the bin (i.e., number of data points/elements within the bin), or click and drag the center of the bin to move or reposition the bin. The techniques may be applied to other graphical representations of data as well, such as splat graphical displays of data.

  • Publication number: 20150007087
Abstract: Data visualization that interactively rotates data about a particular axis or translates data in a particular plane based on input received outside the axis space. Data to be visualized is accessed by a data visualization application. The data may be structured or unstructured, filtered and analyzed. The accessed data may be displayed through an interface of the visualization application for a user. The coordinate system for displaying the data may also be displayed. A user may rotate data about a particular axis of the coordinate system or translate data in a particular plane by providing a continuous input within a graphics portion of an interface. The input may be associated with a virtual track ball.

  • Publication number: 20150007096
Abstract: Data visualization is provided with the capability to interactively rotate data about a particular co-ordinate axis or other axis. Data to be visualized is accessed by a data visualization application. The accessed data may be displayed through an interface of the visualization application for a user. A user may rotate data about a particular axis of the coordinate system by providing a continuous input within a graphics portion of an interface. The input may be associated with the particular axis. The data displayed in the interface will rotate about the coordinate axis as the user drags the cursor.

  • Publication number: 20150007079
Abstract: A system provides data visualization with the capability of combining parallel coordinates and histograms. Parallel coordinates typically display lines between two or more vertical lines representing a coordinate element. In addition to displaying lines between coordinate element axes, histograms are provided at each element line to indicate the instances of data associated with line values. To create parallel coordinates with histograms, bin values may be determined for the parallel coordinates. Data is then accessed, and a particular bin value is incremented for each data point that falls within the bin. The parallel coordinates are then displayed with the histograms indicating a quantity of data associated with each coordinate value.

  • Publication number: 20150007111
Abstract: The present technology may provide data visualization with the capability to interactively select the orientation of one or more axis used to display data. Data to be visualized is accessed by a data visualization application. The data may be structured or unstructured, filtered and analyzed. The accessed data may be displayed through an interface of the visualization application for a user. The coordinate system for displaying the data may also be displayed. A user may orient an axis of the coordinate system by providing input within a graphics portion of an interface rather than navigating to a control button or other portion of the interface provided by the visualization application. The input may be associated with a particular axis. For example, to move a particular axis from its current position to a vertical position, the axis may be selected within the graphical portion of the interface using a cursor.

  • Publication number: 20150007113
Abstract: Data visualization is provided with the capability to substitute elements for groups of clustered data in a graphical interface. When large numbers of data points are to be displayed in an interface, one or more groupings of data existing close together in coordinate space may be identified within the data. Once the groupings are identified and created, an element representing each grouping may be displayed in the visualization interface along with data points not associated with a grouping. A user may select a grouping to see additional information about the grouping, such as a zoomed-in view of the data points making up the grouping. Similarly, a user may select a portion of the data points that make up a grouping to display the element and zoom out for a broader view of the data.

  • Patent number: 8918509
Abstract: A device determines a portion of data generated by a technical computing environment (TCE) program, where the portion of the data is determined based on an initial availability of a resource of a server device. The device provides the portion of the data to the server device for execution, and receives, from the server device, results associated with execution of the portion of the data. The device calculates an availability of the resource based on the results associated with execution of the portion of the data, and provides, to the server device for execution, additional data generated by the TCE program, where the additional data is determined based on the availability of the resource of the server device. The device receives, from the server device, results associated with execution of the additional data, where the receiving is performed by the device.

  • Publication number: 20140267724
Abstract: A recording system may include a camera configured to record images including a first image and a storage device configured to store the images. The recording system may include a controller configured to identify at least one vertical line contained in the first image and determine whether the first image is indicative of a probable event area based on the identification of the at least one vertical line. The controller may be configured to command the camera to record the images at a first quality if the first image is indicative of a probable event area. The controller may also be configured to command the camera to record images at a second quality if the first image is not indicative of a probable event area. The images recorded at the second quality occupy less memory in the storage device than the images recorded at the first quality.

  • Publication number: 20140222506
Abstract: A method for selecting a next action includes reading transaction data, determining insights and relationships between a first entity and a second entity from the collected transaction data. Once these relationships and insights have been determined, the possibility of a future event occurring in one of a number of selected time periods can be determined using a predictive time-to-event component. A system for selecting a next action includes a memory for storing transaction data, an insight/relationship determination module, and a predictive time-to-event module. The memory, the insight/relationship determination module and the predictive time-to-event module carry out the above method. A programmable media having an instruction set can also cause a machine to carry out the above method.
