  • Publication number: 20170050330
Abstract: A feed and cutting unit for selectively cutting and dispensing individual weight material segments from a common strip of backing material is disclosed. The feed and cutting unit comprises a feed assembly, a sensor and a cutter member. The feed assembly includes a drive roller and a follower roller that frictionally engages first and second surfaces of a strip of weight material to selectively move the strip of weight material to a cutter member. The sensor is connected to a controller and measures an amount of segmented weight material on the backing material as the strip of weight material moves past the sensor. The cutter member is actuated to separate weight material segments from the backing material by cutting at least a portion of the backing material in a gap disposed between adjacent segments. Weight apply devices that receive the segments for application to an imbalanced member, are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160081096
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing dynamic channel selection are provided. In an example, a method includes receiving, at a central self-organizing network server, data from an access point (AP) including a number of stations associated with the AP. The method includes calculating downlink capacities for the associated stations and selecting a channel for the AP which maximizes a pre-defined network utility that is based on the downlink capacities. Further, it is determined if the network utility gain resulting from selecting the channel exceeds a threshold when compared to a previous channel selection state. If the network utility gain exceeds the threshold, a channel change command is issued to the AP, directing the AP to use the selected channel to communicate with a specific station.

  • Publication number: 20160016314
Abstract: A method for controlling a robot in at least one pose of the robot wherein the robot can be operated in either a first mode of operation or a second mode of operation. In the second mode of operation the robot can be moved by manually applying a guiding force to the robot. The method includes determining a distance of a state variable of the robot from a first limit and then triggering a safety response when the distance satisfies a first condition and the robot is operating in the first mode of operation. When the robot is operating in the second mode of operation and the distance satisfies the first condition, the method includes not triggering the safety response, and motorically applying a positioning force to the robot in dependence on the determined distance so that the distance can be reduced when the robot is unobstructed.
