  • Publication number: 20140107532
Abstract: A pressure-sensing device is disclosed, which includes a pressure sensor pad. The pressure sensor pad includes a first planar substrate, a second planar substrate, first signal lines, second signal lines, a plurality of rows of first sensor components, and a plurality of columns of second sensor components. The first signal lines and the rows of first sensor components are formed on the first planar substrate, and each row of the first sensor components is connected to a corresponding one of the first signal lines. The second planar substrate is disposed opposite to the first planar substrate. The second signal lines and the columns of second sensor components are formed on the second planar substrate, and each column of the second sensor components is connected to a corresponding one of the second signal lines, where the second sensor components face the first sensor components respectively.

  • Publication number: 20140079628
Abstract: Isolated anti-tissue factor antibodies, immunoglobulins, cleavage products and other specified portions and variants thereof having enhanced ADCC activity, as well as anti-tissue factor antibody compositions, encoding or complementary nucleic acids, vectors, host cells, compositions, formulations, devices, transgenic animals, transgenic plants, and methods of making and using thereof. The antibodies of the invention bind human tissue factor and demonstrate enhanced ADCC activity. Accordingly, the antibodies can be used in a variety of methods for diagnosing, treating, and/or preventing diseases involving tissue factor, where enhanced ADCC activity is desirable such as cancer.

  • Publication number: 20140008944
Abstract: A packaged quick assembly picnic table has a tabletop with a pair of leg subassemblies hingedly connected to a bottom side of the table. A pair of side beams is received upon the pair of leg subassemblies, with a pair of bench seats sandwiching the pair of side beams. A binder, such as straps, shrink wrap or the like, secures the tabletop, pair of leg assemblies, pair of side beams and pair of seats together, all being secured within a perimeter defined by the tabletop. There is thus presented a packaged quick assembly picnic table that is secure, stable for stacking, easy to move and maneuver, and capable of quick assembly when delivered to a final location.

  • Publication number: 20130281419
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition includes, as an active ingredient, a compound according to formula 1436 as shown in FIG. 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Various pharmaceutical products may be produced including this pharmaceutical composition. Such pharmaceutical products may be used for the treatment of obesity or diabetes. Methods for using the pharmaceutical compositions also are described. In these methods, various diseases are treated or other body functions are activated or inhibited by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition. For example, diabetes and obesity may be treated by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical compositions. Weight gain and growth factor production can be inhibited by administering an effective amount of these pharmaceutical compositions.

  • Publication number: 20130189250
Abstract: The invention relates to a humanized form of an antibody capable of preventing tissue factor (coagulation factor F3) signaling but which does not interfere with Factor VII binding or FX binding to tissue factor and does not prolong coagulation time. The antibody of the invention is useful in treating conditions, such as tumor progression, in which the associated cells express tissue factor and tissue factor signaling occurs.

  • Patent number: 8420380
Abstract: Methods and systems of maintaining, evaluating, and providing therapy to a lung ex vivo. The methods and systems involve positioning the lung in an ex vivo perfusion circuit; circulating a perfusion fluid through the lung, the fluid entering the lung through a pulmonary artery interface and leaving the lung through a left atrial interface; and ventilating the lung by flowing a ventilation gas through a tracheal interface. Maintaining the lung for extended periods involves causing the lung to rebreath a captive volume of air, and reaching an equilibrium state between the perfusion fluid and the ventilation gas. Evaluating the gas exchange capability of the lung involves deoxygenating the perfusion fluid and measuring a time taken to reoxygenate the perfusion fluid by ventilating the lung with an oxygenation gas.

  • Publication number: 20130048302
Abstract: A safety valve for subsurface disposal equipped with an interfacing element of elastomeric and non-elastomeric components. The components include an elastomeric energizing component and a non-elastomeric seal ring configured to work together in attaining an internal seal sufficient for allowing the valve to remain consistently closed. Indeed, the aid afforded by the interfacing element may allow the valve to remain consistently and effectively closed even in particularly low pressure well environments or those of widely varying temperatures.

  • Patent number: 8347949
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment provides a method of eliminating a shrinkage cavity in a metal ingot cast by direct chill casting. The method involves casting an upright ingot having an upper surface at an intended height. Upon completion of the casting, the lower tip of the spout is maintained below the molten metal near the center of the upper surface. The metal flow through the spout is terminated and a partial shrinkage cavity is allowed to form as metal of the ingot shrinks and contracts. Before the partial cavity exposes the lower tip of the spout, the cavity is preferably over-filled with molten metal, while avoiding spillage of molten metal, and then the flow of metal through the spout is terminated. These steps are repeated until no further contraction of the metal causes any part of the upper surface to contract below the intended ingot height.

Abstract: A quick release electric throttle assembly connected to a supplemental electric propulsion system, wherein the propulsion system may be moved from one vehicle to another, and the throttle must be correspondingly moved among the vehicles as well is disclosed. The quick release interface may incorporate a disengaging and disengageable electric connection to permit electrical wiring to be quickly plugged and unplugged from the hand actuated accessory. The throttle may be further be configured as a low profile throttle, such as having a flat surface with at least one button by which the throttle may be actuated. The throttle may be secured and released from the control surface of a vehicle by wrapping the laminar flexible sheet at a desired position and wrapping a Velcro like strap over one another about the manual control surface.

  • Patent number: 8250479
Abstract: Display of message flow interactions corresponding to service invocations in a computing environment based on a service-oriented distributed computing model. Aggregations are created, where multiple instances of a particular deployed service operation may be represented by a single node (even though those instances may be hosted on different application servers). Links are depicted between the nodes, where the links represent call paths or invocations among the service operations. A user obtains a high-level, in-context view of the as-observed interactions among service operation instances, and may drill down for further details. A presentation to the user can be automatically scoped to the set of services which are observed as interacting (i.e., via their call relationships), so that the user can be shown that part of the environment that is immediately relevant to a context in which the user launches the view.

  • Publication number: 20120199345
Abstract: A method for logging slick water hydraulic frac well includes the steps of: Perforating the well bore; Pumping fresh water into the reservoir; Running a high resistivity measurement tool down the hole to measure the resistance of the reservoir at selected intervals along the hole; Logging the resistance measurements; and Comparing the resistance of the reservoir strata with the resistance of the fresh water pumped into the reservoir to map the fracture. It is desirable but not necessary to run a high resistivity tool down the hole prior to the perforation step and measure the resistance of the reservoir to provide base line logging data, whereby the base line logging data may be compared with the water frac logging resistance measurements.

  • Publication number: 20110307513
Abstract: A system and method for updating a filtering system which controls access to a website/page between a local area network (LAN) and an Internet. The LAN includes an Internet gateway system coupled to a workstation and configured to receive a URL request. The system controls access to the website/page associated with the URL based on one or more categories that are associated with the URL. The Internet gateway system can determine the category that is associated with the URL by referencing a master database or requesting the category from a database factory. The database factory can receive URLs from multiple Internet gateway systems. The database factory determines whether the identifier was previously categorized by the database factory and provides the category to the Internet gateway system. Once the Internet gateway system has the category, it applies rules associated with the category and user to filter access to the requested website/page.
