  • Publication number: 20200028196
Abstract: Nonaqueous redox flow batteries (RFB) hold the potential for high energy density grid scale storage, though are often limited by the solubility of the redox-active species in their electrolytes. A systematic approach enables an increase the concentration of redox-active species in electrolytes for nonaqueous RFB, starting from a metal-coordination-cation-based ionic liquid. As an example, starting with an ionic liquid consisting of a metal coordination cation (MetIL), ferrocene-containing ligands and iodide anions can be substituted into the original MetIL structure, enabling a nearly 4× increase in capacity compared to original MetIL structure. Application of this strategy to other chemistries, optimizing electrolyte melting point and conductivity could yield >10 M redox-active electrons.

  • Publication number: 20190153110
Abstract: The present invention encompasses PRLR binding proteins. Specifically, the invention relates to antibodies that are chimeric, CDR grafted and humanized antibodies. Preferred antibodies have high affinity for hPRLR and neutralize hPRLR activity in vitro and in vivo. An antibody of the invention can be a full-length antibody or an antigen-binding portion thereof. Methods of making and methods of using the antibodies of the invention are also provided. The antibodies, or antibody portions, of the invention are useful for detecting hPRLR and for inhibiting hPRLR activity, e.g., in a human subject suffering from a disorder in which hPRLR activity is detrimental. Also included in the invention are anti-PRLR antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).

  • Publication number: 20190062892
Abstract: A method to reduce corrosion rates of materials at high temperatures may include heating a mixture and applying the heated mixture to a material to be rendered thermodynamically noble. The mixture may include carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide and the material rendered thermodynamically noble may include copper or other material having similar physical properties. The copper or other similar material may be applied to a structural material and provide a surface interfacing with the mixture of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide to prevent corrosion of the structural material. In some cases, the structural material may form a heat exchanger defining passageways for a working fluid of a power system and/or may form other passageways of the power system. The copper may be applied to the passageways as a protective coating and then made thermodynamically noble at high temperatures after interactions with the mixture of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
