  • Patent number: 10935141
Abstract: A clamshell half of a split ring mechanical seal face assembly comprises a split seal ring half having circumferential and proximal surfaces that are seated against corresponding radial and axial support surfaces of a holder half. At least one extending member extends from a hole in the proximal surface to an arcuate slot in the axial support surface, or vice-versa, and thereby radially constrains the split seal ring half to remain unitized with the holder half during clamshell assembly, while permitting rotation of the split seal ring half about a shaft axis over a limited range, which in embodiments is between 2 degrees and 20 degrees. Embodiments further include a secondary seal between the holder half and split seal ring half that frictionally resists displacement of the split seal ring half.

  • Publication number: 20210047365
Abstract: Methods and systems for control of solid phase peptide synthesis are generally described. Control of solid phase peptide synthesis involves the use of feedback from one or more reactions and/or processes (e.g., reagent removal) taking place in the solid phase peptide synthesis system. In some embodiments, a detector may detect one or more fluids flowing across a detection zone of a solid phase peptide synthesis system and one or more signals may be generated corresponding to the fluid(s). For instance, an electromagnetic radiation detector positioned downstream of a reactor may detect a fluid exiting the reactor after a deprotection reactor and produce a signal(s). In some embodiments, based at least in part on information derived from the signal(s), a parameter of the system may be modulated prior to and/or during one or more subsequent reactions and/or processes taking place in the solid phase peptide synthesis system.

  • Patent number: 10908708
Abstract: In some examples, an active stylus may include a main portion and a top portion. The main portion may include a dry chamber used to store a battery. The top portion may include a wet chamber to store spare nibs. The wet chamber may be accessed to replace a damaged nib with a spare nib. When the top portion is fully mated with the main portion of the stylus, turning the top portion, in a first direction, relative to the main portion until the detent is reached and pulling the top portion from the main portion enables access to the wet chamber. Turning the top portion of the active stylus, in the first direction, relative to the main portion past the detent, until the top portion detaches from the main portion, enables access to the dry chamber.
