  • Patent number: 7913021
Abstract: A processing system is disclosed with a sending component and a receiving component connected by a bus. The bus may be configured with first and second channels. The sending component may be configured to broadcast on the first channel read and write address information, read and write control signals, and write data. The sending component may also be configured to signal the receiving component such that the receiving component can distinguish between the read and write address information, the read and write control signals, and the write data broadcast on the first channel. The receiving component may be configured to store the write data broadcast on the first channel based on the write address information and the write control signals, retrieve read data based on the read address information and the read control signals, and broadcast the retrieved read data on the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20100331959
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of radially expanding a tubular element extending into a wellbore formed in an earth formation, the tubular element including a first layer and a second layer extending around the first layer, said layers being separable from each other. The method comprises inducing each layer to bend radially outward and in an axially reverse direction so as to form an expanded tubular section extending around a remaining tubular section of the tubular element, wherein each layer has a respective bending zone in which the bending occurs, and increasing the length of the expanded tubular section by inducing the respective bending zones of the layers to move in an axial direction relative to the remaining tubular section. The layers in the respective bending zones are separate from each other so as to define an axial space between the layers.

  • Patent number: 7761838
Abstract: The techniques and technologies described herein relate to the automatic creation of photoresist masks for stress liners used with semiconductor based transistor devices. The stress liner masks are generated with automated design tools that leverage layout data corresponding to features, devices, and structures on the wafer. A resulting stress liner mask (and wafers fabricated using the stress liner mask) defines a stress liner coverage area that extends beyond the boundary of the transistor area and into a stress insensitive area of the wafer. The extended stress liner further enhances performance of the respective transistor by providing additional compressive/tensile stress.

  • Publication number: 20100158668
Abstract: A gas turbine engine centrifugal compressor axial forward thrust apparatus bleeds impeller tip aft bleed flow from between an annular centrifugal compressor impeller of a high pressure rotor and a diffuser directly downstream of the impeller. The apparatus then uses the aft bleed flow to pressurize an annular cavity extending radially between an inner combustor casing and the rotor and extending axially between forward and aft thrust balance seals. Forward and aft thrust balance lands are in sealing engagement with the forward and aft thrust balance seals on the high pressure rotor respectively. An annular stator plenum in fluid communication with the annular cavity is bounded in part by a forward end wall having conical diffusion holes therethrough which may be axially or circumferentially or axially and circumferentially angled. The forward thrust balance seal may be on an aft conical arm of the impeller.

  • Patent number: 7717984
Abstract: An electrostatic precipitator unit used for the removal of coolant liquid and particles generated by a machine tool includes an electrostatic precipitator cell. The electrostatic precipitator cell includes power and collector ground fins and an ionizer grid positioned below the fins. The lower edges of the power fins are spaced above the collector ground fins to prevent contact of the liquid on the ground fins with the power fins. An electrical contact assembly for supplying electrical current to the ionizer grid and power fins is electrically isolated from all ground contacts by dielectric standoffs which define an insulating air gap. The likelihood of liquid tracking to ground is therefore eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20100080221
Abstract: A method is provided for distributing multicast channels from a multicast/predictive multicast cache located in at least one selected network device of a multicast network. The network device upon receiving a channel request from an end-user transmits the requested channel from the multicast cache if the requested channel is available in the multicast cache. Else, the network device requests the multicast source for the requested channel along with a group of one or more multicast channels centered at the requested channel. The network device transmits only the requested channel and other channels are cached in the multicast cache on the network device. Upon receiving a request for removing a channel the network device caches the channel for a prescribed duration before evicting the channel.

  • Patent number: 7617343
Abstract: A processing system is disclosed with a sending component and a receiving component connected by a bus. The bus may be configured with transmit and receive channels. The transmit channel may have a plurality of sub-channels. The sending component may be configured to broadcast on each of the sub-channels information comprising read and write address locations, read and write control signals, and write data on each of the sub-channels. The receiving component may be configured to store the write data and retrieve read data in response to the information broadcast on any of the sub-channels, and broadcast the retrieved read data on the receive channel to the sending component. The sending component may further be configured to provide to the receiving component independent signaling for each of the sub-channels, the independent signaling being sufficient to allow the receiving component to determine the type of information broadcast on each of the sub-channels.

  • Patent number: 7598161
Abstract: The halo implant technique described herein employs a halo implant mask that creates a halo implant shadowing effect during halo dopant bombardment. A first transistor device structure and a second transistor device structure are formed on a wafer such that they are orthogonally oriented to each other. A common halo implant mask is created with features that prevent halo implantation of the diffusion region of the second transistor device structure during halo implantation of the diffusion region of the first transistor device structure, and with features that prevent halo implantation of the diffusion region of the first transistor device structure during halo implantation of the diffusion region of the second transistor device structure. The orthogonal orientation of the transistor device structures and the pattern of the halo implant mask obviates the need to create multiple implant masks to achieve different threshold voltages for the transistor device structures.
