  • Patent number: 9827688
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a rework of a composite structure. Boundary geometries are identified for the layer boundaries in an image of a rework area. The image includes layer boundaries for exposed layers in the rework area. Layer orientations are identified for the exposed layers. A description of a patch for installation in the rework area is generated using the boundary geometries and layer orientations. The patch has plies having ply boundaries with the boundary geometries corresponding to the layer boundaries and ply orientations corresponding to the layer orientations. An operation of a ply cutting system is controlled using the group of files describing the patch, enabling fabricating the patch for the rework area using the group of files describing the patch.

  • Patent number: 9787820
Abstract: Methods and systems of navigating between a mobile application and a mobile browser are described. In some embodiments, it is determined that an action has been performed within a mobile application on a mobile device to launch a mobile browser on the mobile device. An identifier for the mobile application is then registered with an operating system of the mobile device, and a navigation element of the mobile browser is associated with the registered identifier. The mobile application can then be re-launched in response to receiving an indication of a selection of the navigation element within the mobile browser. In some embodiments, the identifier is a uniform resource identifier (URI). In some embodiments, associating the navigation element of the mobile browser with the registered identifier comprises modifying a browser history of the mobile browser. In some embodiments, the navigation element is a selectable back button.

  • Patent number: 9720398
Abstract: A method and apparatus for customizing tool paths. A reference tool path is identified for a tool based on an expected shape for a surface of an object. Offset data is generated for a plurality of sample points identified for use in evaluating the surface of the object. The offset data identifies a difference between the expected shape for the surface of the object and an actual shape of the surface of the object. The reference tool path is modified using the offset data to form a modified tool path for the tool.

  • Publication number: 20170146152
Abstract: A towable pipeline bundle for installation underwater at a subsea oil or gas production site has two or more bundled elongate elements, at least one of which is a flowline for carrying production fluid along the bundle. A rigid buoyancy pipe of polymer-composite material extends along and supports the bundled elongate elements. The buoyancy pipe has an internal buoyancy chamber and at least one port for introducing fluid into the buoyancy chamber. The buoyancy pipe is arranged to have positive buoyancy in seawater when its buoyancy chamber contains a fluid less dense than seawater. In this way, the buoyancy pipe confers substantially neutral buoyancy on a towable unit comprising the bundle. The unit can then be towed in mid-water to the production site and lowered there onto the seabed.
