  • Publication number: 20080167785
Abstract: In an engine provided with a valve lift amount variable mechanism and a center phase variable mechanism for an intake valve, a region between a region where a flow rate of an intake air passing through the intake valve reaches a sonic speed and a region where an intake air amount does not substantially change relative to a change in an opening area of the intake valve is made to be a learning region. Then, in order to resolve an error in intake air amount in the learning region, a correction value for correcting control process of the valve lift amount variable mechanism is learned. When the learning of the correction value is converged, the learning correction value is corrected with an occupied rate of the valve lift amount variable mechanism in the influence ratio between influences on the two mechanisms in relation to the error.

  • Patent number: 7293537
Abstract: With a variable valve timing system, engine operability may be lost when performing open control of lift characteristic amounts to the minimum or the maximum of a variable range when a sensor error occurs. The present invention provides a lift operation angle changing mechanism that can continuously change intake valve lift amount and operation angle within a prescribed variable range. A target operation angle is calculated based on the number of engine revolutions and the accelerator pedal opening APO. An error is determined for the operation angle sensor that detects the actual operation angle. A normal control amount is calculated based on the target operation angle and the actual operation angle, and a failure control amount is calculated based on the number of engine revolutions. Therefore, an intermediate value within the variable range can be obtained as the failure control amount.

  • Publication number: 20070186885
Abstract: At the time of obtaining a difference in intake air amount between right and left banks in a V-type engine, a target value of a lift-amount/operation-angle-varying mechanism provided for each of the banks is set to a target value at which flow velocity of intake air passing through an intake valve becomes almost sound velocity. In a state in which the flow velocity of intake air passing through the intake valve becomes almost sound velocity, a difference in the intake air amount in the right and left banks is detected and, to reduce the difference, a correction value for a target value of a valve lift is set for each of the banks.

  • Publication number: 20070083567
Abstract: Data can be recovered at the point in time when the consistency is provided, without increasing a load on the host. The control program 118 updates the snapshot generation at the point in time when the snapshot is taken for each occurrence of the point in time when the snapshot is taken. In cases where new data are written into PVOL1 from the point in time when the snapshot has been taken until the next point in time when the snapshot is taken, the old data are saved by the CoW in DVOL1 and new data are written into PVOL1. Each time new data are written into PVOL1, the update differential data, which are the copy of this data, are prepared and written into DVOL1.
