  • Patent number: 5545882
Abstract: A paper sheet counting machine is disclosed, wherein sheet catching rollers are rotated to feed out paper sheets one after another by means of a friction. A sheet separating roller and a sheet separating plate cooperate to transport the fed out paper sheets, the former having a friction coefficient in connection with the paper sheets which is larger than a friction coefficient existing between the paper sheets themselves and the latter having a same nature of friction coefficient with the sheet separating roller so that the roller is rotated to transmit a transportation power to each of the paper sheets while the plate gives a braking power to each of the paper sheets thereby to prevent more than two paper sheets are transported in an overlapped condition.

  • Patent number: 5545025
Abstract: A cooled pellet making machine includes a rotary cutter and a fixed blade mounted on a fixed support table in opposition to the rotary cutter for cutting a strand into pellets. Each of the fixed support table and the fixed blade are provided with a communication chamber having an inflow port formed in one end and an outflow port formed in the other end. The communication chamber of the fixed blade is connected with the communication chamber of the fixed support table. Cooling water may be circulated through the communication chamber to eliminate heat from being generated on the fixed blade. Therefore, the strand may be cut in a cooled condition by means of the rotary cutter, to produce pellets of uniform size.

  • Patent number: 5532795
Abstract: The clean surfaces of rollers in contact with photoconductive element of an image forming apparatus are cleaned of toner and other contaminants by increasing pressure between the contact surfaces of the roller and the photoconductive element during non-sensitive phases of operation, so that toner and other contaminants are transferred from the rollers to the photoconductive element. Alternatively, the rotational speed of the rollers are decreased, increased or reversed during non-sensitive phases of operation to effect transfer of toner and other contaminants to the photoconductive element for removal by the development station and/or development station.

  • Patent number: 5521611
Abstract: In the driving circuit for a display apparatus according to the present invention, a charging circuit applies a voltage equal to or higher than the highest positive gradation voltage to each data line for a predetermined period of time before the start of a period for applying a positive gradation voltage. After that, a positive gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. Then, a period for the applying a negative gradation voltage is started, when a negative gradation voltage in accordance with data is applied to each data line. Accordingly, after being charged with a voltage applied by the charging circuit at the beginning of each cycle of the AC driving, each data line is applied with an equal or lower gradation voltage. Alternatively, a discharging circuit first applies a voltage equal to or lower than the lowest negative gradation voltage to each data line for a predetermined period of time before the start of a period for applying a negative gradation voltage.

  • Patent number: 5257105
Abstract: An improved flat display apparatus such as a liquid crystal display apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is constructed so that when video signals from a VTR is reproduced to be displayed, the switching noise portion included in the video signals is changed to black level before being displayed, the section within the picture image area in which the switching noise originally appeared is masked by black level, making it possible to conceal the disorder in the picture image. In the case where television video signals are to be displayed, the picture can be enjoyed on a wide picture image area because the mask of black level is not generated.

  • Patent number: 5240863
Abstract: Detecting an immunoreactant in a liquid sample, by:mixing the liquid sample with an excess of a complementary immunoreactant capable of specifically binding to the immunoreactant to allow an immunoreaction to take place, in which the complementary immunoreactant is immobilized on insoluble carrier particles and labeled with an electrochemiluminescent substance that emits an electrochemiluminescent light by electrolytic oxidation in the presence of activated oxygen, applying an electric voltage to a pair of electrodes between which the mixture obtained above is placed, in the presence of activated oxygen to allow electrochemiluminescence to take place;measuring the emission of the electrochemiluminescent light; andcorrelating the presence of the immunoreactant with the amount of measured electrochemiluminescent light, is a highly accurate method, because the rate of change of the emission of luminescent light as a function of immunoreactant concentration in the sample is high.

  • Patent number: 5172742
Abstract: A panel shutter device constructed in such a way that in the process of continuously moving each panel by a lifting shift along guides rails and a lateral shift along a housing rail, a guide rotary member engages or disengages a guide shaft projecting from the side of the panel opposite the driven side. At the time of descending of the shutter curtain, in order to prevent finger pinching as each panel is placed on the succeeding panels sequentially, each panel can be lifted or descended without causing a gap between panels of the shutter curtain by providing the support member suspended by a pivotable connecting chain.

  • Patent number: 5151688
Abstract: An information input and output apparatus includes an active matrix type display device and switching device. In the information input and output apparatus, the display device displays an image according to an image signal, and has plural pixel electrodes formed in a matrix shape on a transparent substrate. The switching device drives the display device in response to a predetermined voltage to be applied to one of row electrode lines and a predetermined voltage to be applied as the image signal to one of column electrode lines. A photoconductive layer is formed between each of the row electrode lines and each of the column electrode lines at each intersection of the row electrode lines and the column electrode lines in a structure relation to receive light projected from the light pen. When light projected from a light pen is incident onto the photoconductive layer, the resistance thereof decreases.

  • Patent number: 5119026
Abstract: An arrangement in a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for producing image data of an object being examined. The object is subjected to magnetic fields and RF pulse signals which produce echo signals. The echo signals which represent views of the object are detected. Data collecting circuitry selectively performs a data collection process on the detected echo signals to produce collected data such that, for those echo signals of a relatively small strength, part of the data collection process is suppressed and, for those echo signals of a relatively great strength, the data collection process is performed a plurality of times under identical operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 4800411
Abstract: A magnetic brush development device has a development casing housing a development sleeve for carrying a magnetic brush thereon, the development sleeve confronting an electrostatic latent image carrier such as a photosensitive drum. When the development sleeve rotates, toner carried by the development sleeve acts as a pump for air inside the development casing housing, and the pumping action of the air causes developer to be scattered out of the housing. However, according to the invention, the development casing has spaces defined therein around the development sleeve and communicating with each other to equalize pressures therein for thereby preventing developer from being scattered out.

  • Patent number: 4662748
Abstract: Two sets of TACs are simultaneously operated by a start pulse, one set of TACs using a photoelectron pulse due to an excited light from a sample as a stop pulse, and the other set of TACs using a photoelectron pulse due to a fluorescence from the sample as a stop pulse. Each TAC outputs a voltage proportional to the time from the start of action to the receiving of the stop pulse and an excitation light shape and a luminescence transient shape are simultaneously measured on the basis of output voltages from the TACs. A variable offset voltage is added to an output of at least one of the two sets of TACs and the excitation light shape and the luminescence transient shape are displayed on a two-picture synthetic display.
