  • Publication number: 20100035766
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel cell chip having a living cell retained on a substrate while keeping the functions of the cell. Specifically, disclosed is a cell chip which comprises a honeycomb-like porous material having through-pores therein and composed of a water-insoluble polymer and a human hepatocyte retained on the porous material. The cell chip, particularly one having a human hepatocyte retained on both surfaces of the honeycomb-like porous material, is advantageous, because it can keep the activity of a drug-metabolizing enzyme (particularly, a P450 activity) for a long period, can keep the number of the cells stably, and so on.

  • Patent number: 7617720
Abstract: A surface position measuring method capable of measuring a position on a soft surface accurately and rapidly (real time), with low invasiveness. The method comprises the steps of measuring the spectrum of thermal oscillation of a cantilever with the distance between a cantilever tip and a sample surface being changed, extracting a fundamental mode component (spectrum area) from the obtained spectrum of thermal oscillation, and measuring a change in the spectrum area of thermal oscillation (spectrum area) with respect to the distance. A position at which the area of the cantilever thermal oscillation spectrum begins to change is evaluated as a position on the sample surface.

  • Patent number: 7598748
Abstract: An inverter system which converts DC input into AC output and supplies the AC output to a load such as an FL tube detects change in a circuit current due to anomaly such as discharge without contacting with a current route. Relating to an inverter which converts DC input into AC output and supplies the AC output to a load, change in a circuit current of the inverter is detected through the medium of magnetic flux change due to the change in the circuit current caused by discharge. For example, if change in a current occurs in the circuit current of the inverter by disconnection discharge or ground-fault discharge occurring in a current route including a load of the inverter, magnetic flux change occurs in circuit wiring and a space of a core gap of a transformer of the inverter. The change in the circuit current is detected through the medium of the magnetic flux change without contacting with the circuit wiring or the transformer.

  • Publication number: 20080275315
Abstract: A major object of this invention is to provide a remote diagnosis apparatus, a remote diagnosis system, a user terminal, a program, a diagnosis program, and a storage for easily diagnosing a pigmentary deposition portion. A user of the system picks up the skin having benign nevus pigmentosus that might be melanoma through a dermoscope using a portable telephone with a camera to which the dermoscope is attached by means of an adapter, accesses to the Internet using an Internet connection function of the portable telephone, and sends the picked up skin image to the remote diagnosis apparatus. After receiving the skin image, the remote diagnosis apparatus uses the melanoma diagnosis program to examine the skin image for melanoma and a disease stage of melanoma if there is melanoma and then sends a result to the user.

  • Publication number: 20080056294
Abstract: A control scheme is disclosed for controlling establishment of a standby channel route for an active channel route in a GMPLS network made up of plural transmission apparatuses. The standby channel route is formed by at least one standby channel route transmission apparatus, an ingress transmission apparatus, and an egress transmission apparatus. The control scheme involves transmitting from the ingress transmission apparatus to the standby channel route transmission apparatus a standby channel path establishing message including pre-reserve information for directing the standby channel route transmission apparatus to pre-reserve a standby channel path of the standby channel route, and setting the standby channel path to pre-reserved status within a band management table of the standby channel route transmission apparatus. The standby channel path that is set to pre-reserved status within the standby channel route transmission apparatus is externally recognized as free by the other transmission apparatuses.
