  • Publication number: 20070296986
Abstract: With a recording medium causing a computer to execute a color adjustment program used for the color adjustment of a display, weights are assigned to the adjustment amounts of colors included in an adjustment range in correspondence with a positional relationship with a target color in color space, and the adjustment amount of the target color, when information about the target color to be adjusted, the adjustment amount indicating the amount of the color adjustment made to the target color, and the adjustment range for deciding the range of colors to be adjusted along with the target color are input. According to the weights, colors after the adjustment for the target color and the colors included in the adjustment range are calculated, and a three-dimensional region corresponding to the calculated colors is drawn in the color space.

  • Publication number: 20070285839
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention improve the production efficiency of a perpendicular recording medium while ensuring the scratch resistance thereof. In order to realize high production stability in the high speed production of perpendicular recording media, a target is not provided with a texture of a low melting point or the ratio thereof is decreased. Thus according to one embodiment of the present invention, upon forming a layer having an element of a low melting point in the constituent layers of a perpendicular recording medium, a target can be made using an alloy powder previously formed of an intermetallic compound having a melting point higher than 660° C., thereby preventing thermal deformation.

  • Publication number: 20070216812
Abstract: A color correction method, a color correction device, and a color correction program that can achieve color correction processing with a color table with a fine spacing, while preventing the increase in memory capacity. A signal (YCC signal) of a luminance—color difference system is subjected to matrix conversion with a matrix conversion unit 10 and converted into a signal (RGB signal) of a display signal system. The adjustment amount relating to the signal of the display signal system is stored in a RGB color adjustment LUT 20. An interpolation processing unit 20 conducts interpolation processing by referring to the RGB color adjustment LUT 20 and outputs the color-corrected RGB signal after correction.

  • Patent number: 7167277
Abstract: When an L*a*b* value of a certain color is outside a target color gamut to be converted, it is judged whether the L*a*b* value is located within the range of the color gamut set under a predetermined condition. This set range is a range in which the accuracy is degraded if colors are converted using only a first method, for example, a range in the neighborhood of the color gamut. If a color to be converted is located within the range, colors are converted using a second method. If the L*a*b* value of the color to be converted is outside of the set range, it is converted using the first method until the conversion result is contained within the range Then, the occurrence of both a problem which the first conversion method has for colors in the neighborhood of the color gamut when colors are converted and a problem which the second method has in the conversion of a color far from the color gamut can be suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20060176400
Abstract: An image processing method according to this invention includes: generating a histogram by counting a number of pixels for each predetermined color section in a color system having no singular point, for a specific image; detecting a local peak that is a portion where the counted number of pixels is maximum in the generated histogram, and determining a local peak color value, which is a color value corresponding to said local peak; and identifying a pixel in the specific image based on the determined local peak color value. This enables the determination of an appropriate local peak color value regardless of the achromatic color or chromatic color.

  • Publication number: 20060170998
Abstract: An image correction method of this invention includes a step of identifying a first pixel that satisfies one of predetermined conditions as to a pixel level, which are set for each color component, among pixels included in a specific image; a step of identifying a second pixel that satisfies the plural aforementioned predetermined conditions as to the pixel level, which are set for each color component, among pixels included in the specific image; a step of calculating an evaluation value relating to a duplication degree of the first pixel and the second pixel; and a correction step of correcting the specific image based on the evaluation value. As a result, it becomes possible to avoid a wrong correction for an object having the chromatic color, and an appropriate image correction is carried out.

  • Patent number: 6690465
Abstract: In measuring a spectral irradiance distribution of light, light is irradiated to n (natural number) light-transit sections, which respectively have n kinds of given optical characteristic coefficients, and s (natural number) optical sensors, which respectively have s kinds of given spectral sensitivities, receive the light via the n light-transit sections and detects individual responses for the received light. Then a calculating section calculates m (natural number) spectral irradiances for m kinds of wavelengths as a spectral irradiance distribution based on linear formulae established between the optical characteristic coefficients, the spectral sensitivities, (n×s) responses for the light obtained by the s optical sensors, and the spectral irradiance distribution of the light.

  • Patent number: 6671072
Abstract: A conversion parameter computing section computes conversion parameters corresponding to a position included in a partial space with one edge thereof equal to w/2 (where w is a lattice interval). When L*a*b* value for an input color is inputted, an intra-lattice position computing section computes a position in a lattice space identified by a lattice point identifying section using a conversion table. An interpolation section outputs CMY values corresponding to L*a*b* value by executing interpolation according to conversion parameters retrieved by a conversion parameter retrieving section.

  • Patent number: 6577395
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium allows users to measure a lighting condition of an object. In one embodiment, at least one user visually compares colored materials against a displayed color sample. Users may adjust the color of the displayed color sample by changing corresponding attribute values until the displayed color sample appears to substantially match the colored material. Once users indicate that they have established a color match between a displayed color sample and a colored material, the spectral irradiance value of the substantially matched color sample is calculated. The spectral irradiance value represents a measurement of the lighting condition in a particular room.

Abstract: An apparatus divides an original image into a plurality of areas, computes a characteristic amount for the plurality of areas, and computes a statistic amount for estimation of the status of an image using the characteristic amount. The statistic amount is compared with a predetermined value, a correcting parameter for correcting an image is determined based on the comparison result, and the original image is corrected using the correcting parameter. Thus, appropriate corrections can be made to images of various types and statuses.
