  • Publication number: 20110123130
Abstract: An image correction apparatus includes a smoothing unit, a blurred area detection unit, a correction amount calculation unit, and a correction unit. The smoothing unit smoothes an input image. The blurred area detection unit detects, for each pixel of a smoothed image obtained by the smoothing unit, whether or not each of the pixels is included in a blurred area. The correction amount calculation unit calculates an amount of a correction for a pixel that belongs to the blurred area based on the smoothed image. The correction unit corrects the input image by using the amount of a correction calculated by the correction amount calculation unit.

  • Publication number: 20100260432
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a level-value-limit smoothed-image creating unit, a level-value combining unit, and a smoothed-image creating unit. The level-value-limit smoothed-image creating unit calculates, from the pixels in a received input image within a filter size of the low-pass filters each having different level value ranges, an average value of the pixels in the level value ranges, and creates level-value-limit smoothed images. The level-value combining unit creates a level-value combined image by selecting and combining one or more of the level-value-limit smoothed images. The smoothed-image creating unit determines, based on image information that is different from image information used by the level-value-limit smoothed-image creating unit, a combining ratio of the input image to the level-value combined image and creates a smoothed image by combining the input image and the level-value combined image using the determined combining ratio.

  • Publication number: 20100254623
Abstract: An image correction apparatus calculates a feature value indicative of an average brightness of an input image from the pixel values of the input image and determines a pixel value at a boundary for correcting each pixel of the input image to make it brighter or darker by using the calculated feature value of the input image. • Publication number: 20100172585
Abstract: When a plurality of images are to be overlapped and synthesized, coincidence degrees between the plurality of images in an area near the boundary of a common area are calculated, and the plurality of images are overlapped and synthesized so that an area near the boundary having a high coincidence degree appears on the overlapped image. Thereby, it is possible to avoid the duplexing of the subject in the common area and unnatural ruptures on the boundary made by the overlapping while reducing the number of processes for the synthesizing.
