  • Publication number: 20200048866
Abstract: A computerized method for adjusting machine capabilities of a machine in response to machine operating conditions is provided. The computerized method is carried out by a controller and includes: collecting data corresponding to the machine operating conditions using the controller. The data includes current machine health data, current operator skill level data, and current environmental factor data. The computerized method also includes comparing the machine operating conditions against stored metrics using the controller. When the machine operating conditions are below the stored metrics, the controller decreases the machine capabilities. When the machine operating conditions are above the stored metrics, the controller increases the machine capabilities.

  • Patent number: 10552373
Abstract: A facility for snapshot space accounting for a storage system, such as a filesystem is disclosed. The facility enables users to quickly and easily determine the amount of storage space that would be released or recovered if a snapshot were to be purged. The facility may work in conjunction with, or as part of, a snapshot service. The facility maintains an expiration data structure and a count data structure and uses these data structures in implementing the disclosed snapshot space accounting techniques. The expiration data structure represents the life cycle of each snapshot element maintained by the facility while the count data structure represents, for pairs of snapshots, the size of the information stored in the snapshot data that expired and that spans the corresponding pair of snapshots.

  • Patent number: 10554739
Abstract: Individualized connectivity based request handling is disclosed. For example, a content source is accessed by a client device and a load balancer executes on a processor to receive a first request based on the client device accessing the content source. A first session variable is set to a first value in a first session and a first latency to the client device is measured. A first plurality of target nodes is selected based on the first session variable. A first plurality of messages is sent to the first plurality of target nodes. A second request is received from the client device after the first session expires, starting a second session. The first session variable is set to a different second value in the second session. A second plurality of messages is sent to a second plurality of target nodes different from the first plurality of target nodes.

  • Publication number: 20200019291
Abstract: A computing device is described that receives, from a source, a notification. The computing device determines content of the notification other than a quantity of notifications currently pending for the source of the notification and based at least in part on the content, determines a notification badge that reflects the content of the notification. The device displays the notification badge near a graphical element for launching the source of the notification. In reflecting content of the notification, the badge icon may facilitate efficient interaction with the computing device by resolving one or more ambiguities that would otherwise arise.

  • Publication number: 20190337370
Abstract: A sealable covering for a vehicle includes a pliable base including walls, and a plurality of panels that are either attached to the walls or attachable to the walls. The walls and panels have an inner facing side configured to face an interior of the covering, and an outer facing side configured to face away from the interior. The inner facing side includes a first pocket for containing padding material. Either the inner facing side or the outer facing side includes a second pocket for receiving a piece of protective material, and the first pocket and the second pocket overlap each other. A connector at an edge of each panel connects the plurality of panels to form, with the base, an enclosure that completely encloses and seals the vehicle within the covering. • Publication number: 20190329073
Abstract: A tool for radiation therapy simulation or planning is disclosed which aids in avoiding collisions during treatment. Configurations of components including at least a radiation delivery device (30) and a patient (32) are generated. Each configuration defines positions of the components in a common coordinate system. For each configuration, proximities of pairs of components of the configuration are computed using ray tracing between three-dimensional surface models (30m, 32m, 36m, 38m) representing the components of the pair. A collision is identified as any pair of components having a computed proximity that is less than a margin for the pair of components. Each identified collision is displayed on a display (12), e.g. as a rendering. The simulations or planning may be used to verify deliverability of arc, 4Pi, or static therapy, to determine safety margins for collisions, to calculate and display realizable trajectories, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20190294591
Abstract: A facility comprising methods and systems for analyzing and visualizing trends in the usage of data within a shared storage filesystem is disclosed. The facility analyzes the rate at which the filesystem or a portion thereof is used by periodically generating manifests of the usage of the filesystem and comparing one manifest to another manifest. Furthermore, the facility may store additional information relevant to the manifest, such as the time at which the manifest was taken; for each directory, the sum of all of the values determined for items in that directory (including any subdirectories); and so on. In this manner, the facility collects and stores information relevant to developing trend information for each item in the filesystem. The trends analysis and visualizations described herein provide quick insight into the changes deemed most interesting or significant between two times.
