  • Publication number: 20070151671
Abstract: A machine for precisely delivering and affixing solid media for the purpose of creating prototypes of varying size and precision. The device would, with great precision, deliver uniform shaped media, of any size, made of plastic, carbon fiber, metal or other solid or hollow materials to a position precisely determined by a computer. Adhesive will be applied to each piece of media and an adhesive accelerant will be applied to the position the media is to be placed so that when the media contacts the prior placed media with adhesive accelerant applied, it will adhere fast. In this manner multiple pieces of uniform media can be adhered in an ever increasing number precisely positioned as determined by computer software and the computer controlled apparatus. Objects and prototypical shapes can then be created by the combination and adhesion of all the media parts.

  • Publication number: 20070149243
Abstract: A system and method that routes special number calls from a calling dual-mode wireless communications device when operating in an unlicensed network to a special number answering point based on one or more parameters. In accordance with one aspect of this invention, the parameter comprises the location of the access point that the calling wireless communications device is in communication with. In accordance with another aspect of this invention, an unlicensed media access (UMA) network controller (UNC) connected to a GSM switching system stores the location of each access point to which it is attached. Advantageously, the location information is stored in X/Y coordinate format or location shape format.

  • Patent number: 7188064
Abstract: A system and method for coding text data wherein a first group of text data is coded using a Viterbi algorithm using a Hidden Markov model. The Hidden Markov Model computes a probable coding responsive to the first group of text data. A second group of text data is coded using the Viterbi algorithm using a corrected Hidden Markov Model. The Hidden Markov Model is based upon the coding of the first group of text data. Coding the first group of text data includes assigning word concepts to groups of at least one word in the first group of text data and assigning propositions to groups of the assigned word concepts.

  • Patent number: 7180663
Abstract: When any observer receives an image of a scene having the same relative size, shape and location on the retina of each of his two eyes at any instant and the image of the scene has some component of horizontal motion in any direction, the image viewed is three dimensional. If the motion occurs, all scene-object points are spatially located in playback since all of the original ray angles between camera and scene points are reproduced for both eyes by the ray cross-overs at the scene image points. When successive frames are presented, the brain cognizes the motion in linking the frames by persistence of vision. For the brain to perceive an item as moving it must connect these frames, but because of intersecting rays coming from any spatial location in successive frames, the brain cannot connect the frames without also locating the points in space.

  • Patent number: 7177400
Abstract: A system and method that provides a map image as part of, or along with, ALI information by dispatching a map query to a central map server after receipt of the ALI information, which includes an address, geo-coordinates or both. A map image corresponding to the requested location is returned. The ALI database may request the map image after retrieving or determining the location of the caller. Data to generate map images is stored in a central server or group of servers. In this manner, the data only has to be updated once for all users to have the updates. Further, the map server may be connected to wireline telephone facilities, wireless telephone facilities, or both, in a manner that is complimentary to the topography of the telephone network.

  • Patent number: 6997457
Abstract: This is a novel two-player board game which uses addition and subtraction to initiate the movement of a player's pieces. The game is comprised of two sections; each section consists of a plurality of spaces containing integers. The interior section is comprised of opposite sides separated by zeros, one side containing negative integers and the other positive. Pieces are provided to each player for separate use in the exterior and interior sections. Movement is initiated by positioning pieces in the exterior section on spaces whose integers produce a difference of two integers found in the interior section, thus enabling pieces to move from one space to another. The object of this game is to be the first player with all his/her pieces positioned within the interior section on spaces whose integers when added together equal zero.

  • Patent number: 6980651
Abstract: A method for creating a secure sub-network on a public network that includes a set of devices. The secure sub-network is to include a subset of devices from among the set of devices. An access card is provided having a first private key comprised thereon. The access card is scanned to determine the first private key, by the subset of devices. A master device is determined from among the subset of devices. A second private key is selected and a public key is computed based on the second private key, by the master device. The second private key is only known to the master device. The public key is sent to the set of devices, by the master device. A shared encryption key is computed, and an encryption is requested of any subsequent messages between any of the devices comprising the subset of devices using the shared encryption key.

  • Patent number: 6955596
Abstract: An air flow producer mounted at the ceiling of a room generates an air flow toward the floor, reducing temperature gradients and improving heating and cooling efficiency. A housing defines a circular cylindrical, vertical flow passage that receives the air flow. A discharge chamber discharges the air flow through a grill toward the floor. The discharge chamber has a cross-section that expands progressively from the outlet of the flow passage to the outlet of the discharge chamber. The air flow through the housing is produced by a fan with a rotary blade assembly, and the blade assembly extends partially into the discharge chamber. The position of the blade assembly and the expanding cross-section of the discharge chamber cooperate to increase air flows through the housing. Optionally, an air intake chamber of generally inverted frustoconical shape may be mounted at the upper inlet end of the cylindrical flow passage to smooth flows further.

  • Patent number: 6952179
Abstract: A dual mode radar seeker comprising a wide-band passive anti-radar antenna system (3) at the rear of a radome (1), operating at relatively low radar frequencies in an amplitude comparison tracking mode, and a high-frequency (W-band) active amplitude-comparison antenna system (5) in the nose of the radome (1) and having a common boresight with the anti-radar system. The active system employs coarse phase shift steering (31, 41) of the antenna ‘beam’ for the transmit and, optionally, also, the receive ‘beam’. The high frequency and the use of phase shift steering both help to keep down the size of the active radar thus enabling it (5, 7, 9) to be positioned far forward in the nose of the radome (1) so as not to obscure the field of the anti-radar system (3).

  • Patent number: 6950944
Abstract: An access control system that utilizes security codes (500), a database (430), and a control device (20) is disclosed. Each security codes (500) is comprised of a unique key code (502) that provides security in addition to a use code (503) that is used to convey specific user defined functions. The use code (503) may be determined by the security code requester (400) at the time of security code (500) charge out from the database (430). The database (430) controls the issuance of security codes (500) and the control device (20) validates the key code (502) within the security code (500) against key codes (502) within control device (20) memory and if valid, performs an action based on the validation of the use code (503) parameters. As the key codes (502) that are within the control device (20) memory are used, the control device (20) then self-regenerates the key codes (502) in order to extend the control device (20) service life indefinitely.

The display device has substantially parallel arms that extend away from a mounting surface thereby forming at least one slot. A board shaped sporting device, such as a skateboard, is received by the slot and thereafter cantilevered in a storage position. The display device leaves the design of the received board substantially unobstructed for display.

  • Publication number: 20050191302
Abstract: The present invention is based on the finding that the artificial induction of hepatic stellate cell (HSC) apoptosis in vivo can promote the resolution of liver fibrosis. Thus, the present invention provides methods for treating liver disease in a subject involving administration of an inducer of apoptosis which is capable of selectively inducing hepatic stellate cell apoptosis in the liver of the subject or of an agent which is capable of giving rise to such an inducer in the subject. In addition, the invention provides methods for treating liver fibrosis in a subject comprising the selective delivery of an inducer of apoptosis specifically to the hepatic stellate cells of the subject or of an agent which is capable of giving rise to an inducer of hepatic stellate cell apoptosis.
