Third, establishing a second data base containing twice-translated address entries, each relating to a selected street name entry from the postal data or a selected street name entry from the street address data. Fourth, treating the second data base with a geocoder routine to create geocoded address entries in a geocoded data set. Fifth, situating the geocoded data set in a spatial layer. Sixth, orienting the spatial layer with known loci in the spatial layer base map.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for updating database statistics for use in generating query execution plans. A first query for a database is received, for example by a compiler, and the compiler accesses statistics associated with the first query for optimizing a query execution plan for the first query. The statistics may be accessed from a first cache. If the statistics retrieved from the first cache are determined to be stale, the system obtains updated statistics and may store them in a temporary cache. The stale statistics in the first cache are marked as invalid. Existing queries using the first cache may continue to use the first cache, while new queries may be provided with updated statistics.

Abstract: Multimedia content captured by a camera-enabled wireless device may be communicated from the camera-enabled wireless device to a television host device for viewing and/or storage. The multimedia content may be communicated wirelessly from the camera-enabled wireless device to a telecommunications network. The telecommunications network forwards the multimedia content to a media-delivery network, which delivers the multimedia content to the television host device. The television host device treats the multimedia content (presents, stores, etc.) based on user-defined preferences.

Abstract: This invention provides a hydrophilic porous fiber wick for delivering vaporizable material into the atmosphere, such as a room environment. The wick may be biodegradable. The wick is comprised of a sintered synthetic bicomponent fibers, optionally combined with synthetic monocomponent fibers or natural monocomponent fibers. The wick is optionally treated with plasma or finishing agents for improved hydrophilicity. The wick can wick aqueous and/or non-aqueous-based fragrances or other vaporizable materials and evaporate them into the air without the use of heat, convection air, or atomization.

Abstract: A process for the recovery of sulfur from an acid gas stream is disclosed. The process includes a Claus sulfur recovery step in combination with a direct reduction step and a biological sulfur recovery step to provide a sweet gas stream having a very low concentration of hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. The process includes reacting an acid gas steam with oxygen under such oxidation conditions to yield a combustion gas comprising hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. The combustion gas is reacted under Claus reaction conditions to yield a reaction gas comprising sulfur. Sulfur is recovered from the reaction gas to yield a Claus tail gas comprising hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. The Claus tail gas is reacted under direct reduction reaction conditions to yield a direct reduction gas comprising sulfur. Sulfur is recovered from the direct reduction reaction gas to yield a tail gas comprising a concentration of hydrogen sulfide.

Abstract: A wearable accessory may provide visual indicia of an incoming network event for a wireless telecommunications device. The wireless telecommunications device may detect the presence of the wearable accessory within a wireless personal area network. After detecting the presence of the wearable accessory, the wireless telecommunications device may determine the display type of the wearable accessory and if any interface software is required to properly communicate a signal to the wearable accessory. Abstract: A device and a method are disclosed for manually perforating a sheet of aluminum foil. The device includes a first member having a first surface with a plurality of apertures formed therein and a first guide member extending upwardly above the first surface. The device also includes a second member having a lower surface with a plurality of projections extending downwardly therefrom. Each of the projections can be simultaneously inserted into one of the plurality of apertures. A second guide member is formed on the second member and cooperates with the first guide member to permit the second member to move vertically relative to the first member. A sheet of aluminum foil can be placed between the first and second members, when they are spaced apart from one another, and the sheet of aluminum foil can be perforated by pressing the second member against the first member.
