  • Publication number: 20140370523
Abstract: Methods are provided for determining or otherwise assessing the response of a patient to treatment, in particular, to cancer treatment. The methods include the analysis of samples for the presence or the absence of HER2 markers alone or in conjunction with other biomarkers, such as HER3 markers. In certain examples, the probable time to progression can be determined by first determining HER2 positive patients and then further stratifying by using the presence or the absence of a second biomarker (e.g, HER3 markers). In addition, the data can be used to track a patient's response to a treatment regimen, assessing the expected success of treating a patient using a particular regiment, determining the effects of a treatment regiment or for categorizing a patient in order to create a homogenous group for a clinical trial.

  • Patent number: 8910918
Abstract: Process for closing and cutting into sections a flexible tube, with a cutting element and a pinching closing device for cutting into sections with two cross-sections, each with two parts with indentations that can be placed in removable extension by combination elements and that make a passage with an access, whereby the pinching closing device is in the open or closed state where the cross-sections are closed by locking members and where the surfaces form a pinching closing passage of the tube; the pinching region of the tube is positioned in the indentation of a cross-section; the other cross-section is brought opposite the preceding one and the pinching closing device in the closed state, with cooperation of the locking elements, the tube being positively pinched and closed in two positive pinching zones, and thus held in place; the tube is cut into sections between the parts in the closed state, using the cutting element by passing it into the passage without it interfering with the pinching closing devic

  • Publication number: 20140325019
Abstract: A subscriber device reports network operation conditions, such as network performance incidents, to receive feedback from the network related to the incident and available or possibly available solutions, and to produce network intelligence suitable for network planning and network performance enhancement. Reporting of network performance incidents can be characterized by location and time of occurrence, wherein this intelligence is provided by the user device. Feedback provided by the network is based on the network performance data received as part of reporting an incident. The reporting described herein enables a network operator to generate network planning intelligence based on actual network performance as experienced at the subscriber level.

  • Patent number: 8863364
Abstract: The pinching device includes two cross-sections, each having a hollow part with a male indentation and a female indentation, and locking elements, whereby the surfaces of the indentations form a positive pinching passage of the tube; the male indentation has a U shape with a core and two wings; the female indentation has a U shape with a core and two wings; and the pinching passage has a U shape with a core and two wings; the two opposite wings will draw together toward their ends that are opposite to the cores of the indentations, and each of the two wings of the pinching passage has an opening whose width will diminish towards its end that is opposite to the core of the pinching passage; the width of the opening of the pinching passage is at most slightly smaller than twice the thickness of the wall of the flexible tube to be pinched, and, designed to constitute a pinching closing device, it is disposable, performing a function of closing the tube on itself in the pinching region, preventing any passage of

The rim channel is provided above the bowl and is fluidly connected to the water inlet chamber to receive the water. The rim channel includes an opening that introduces water into a rear portion of the bowl at an angle relative to vertical. The rear mount includes a mounting hole that is configured to connect the toilet to a wall via a fastener engaging the wall and the mounting hole. The pocket is formed in a side of the toilet and extends through the shroud to provide access to an interior side of the mounting hole from the side of the toilet, such that the fastener can be accessed through the pocket from the side of the toilet.

  • Patent number: 8809765
Abstract: A sensor protector is intended to reduce the sensitivity of the optical sensor (4) to radiation products which, for example, are formed during sterilization with gamma radiation and to ensure simple and cost-effective manufacture. The sensor protector includes an upper part (1), a lower part (3) and an optical sensor (4). The optical sensor (4) situated on the lower part is positionable in an offset manner with respect to an opening (2) situated in the upper part and movable by means of displacement toward the opening (2) of the upper part (1). The sensor protector is suitable for use in containers and laboratory products that are sterilized by gamma radiation, for example disposable bioreactors.

  • Patent number: 8774780
Abstract: An enhanced services platform has an interface for receiving a communication from a user requesting a desired data. An automated response module parses the communication and retrieves the desired data. The enhanced services platform arranges the desired data into a response message that is sent to the user, where the response message includes an embedded code corresponding to a link allowing the user to re-contact the enhanced services platform. An operator assistance module receives communications from the user initiated via the link to provide further assistance regarding the user's request.

  • Patent number: 8526594
Abstract: A directory assistance system includes a request handling module for receiving a plurality of incoming directory assistance requests from requesters and an agent platform for handling the directory assistance requests by providing at least one listing to the requester. A record database stores a record relating to the first request, and includes a first identifier, a time and a listing entry. An incoming request tracking module tracks second incoming directory assistance requests, by reviewing a second identifier associated with the directory assistance request, comparing the second identifier against the first identifiers in the records, and if a record has a matching first identifier to second identifier from request, then, prior to the second request being sent to the agent platform, offering to automatically provide the stored listing entry from the record to the requester.

  • Patent number: 8526596
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a directory assistance system having a plurality of different network elements operating on different protocols. The method includes receiving, at a first network element, operating on a first operating protocol, an incoming directory assistance call from a caller. A universal call identifier data is then assigned to the call. The call is then transmitted to a second network element, operating on a second operating protocol, wherein the same universal call identifier is accepted by the second network element. A record is generated of the exchange of the call between the first and second network elements based on the assigned universal call identifier data.

Abstract: A method for providing search results in response to a web based query includes receiving incoming communications each configured to generate a user profile, along with input from the users to set preferences. Tracked web activity history from the plurality of users are stored in the profiles. The tracked histories are analyzed in combination with their preferences and at least one group profile for users having similar preferences is generated. When additional web based queries are received, search results are provided where the results are affected by the tracked web activity history from the users with similar stored preferences in the group profile to the user making the additional web based query.
