  • Publication number: 20220172935
Abstract: A sputter-ion-pump system includes a sputter ion pump and an electronic drive. The electronic drive supplies a voltage across the ion pump to establish, in cooperation with a magnetic field, a Penning trap within the ion pump. A current sensor measures the Penning-trap current across the Penning trap. The Penning trap is used as an indication of pressure within the ion pump or a vacuum chamber including or in fluid communication with the ion pump. The pressure information can be used to determine flow rates, e.g., due to a load, outgassing, and/or leakage from an ambient.

  • Publication number: 20220158564
Abstract: Pulse sharing control to enhance performance in multiple output power converters is described herein. During a switching cycle, an energy pulse is provided to more than one port (i.e., output) using pulse sharing transfer. Pulse sharing transfer may enhance performance by reducing audible noise due to subharmonics and by reducing a root mean square current of one or more secondary currents. A primary switch is closed to energize an energy transfer element via a primary current. Energy may be shared among a first load port on a first circuit path via a first secondary current and among a second load port on a second circuit path via a second secondary current.

  • Publication number: 20220130389
Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for dynamically determining when information is to be output to a user, as well as what information is to be output to a user. A natural language processing system may receive, from a first device, first data representing information to be output at a first point during a skill session. The natural language processing system may also receive, from a second device, second data representing a natural language input. The natural language processing system may determine a skill component is to execute with respect to the natural language input. The natural language processing system may send, to the skill component, second data representing the natural language input. The natural language processing system may receive, from the skill component, an indication that an ongoing first skill session with the second device has reached the first point.

  • Patent number: 11293551
Abstract: A monolithic break-seal includes a membrane that separates an outer ring from an inner ring. The inner ring is bonded to a vacuum cell and the outer ring is bonded to a vacuum interface. To protect against unintentional breakage of the membrane, a surface of the outer ring not bonded to the vacuum interface contacts the vacuum cell. An external vacuum system evacuates the vacuum cell through an aperture of the break-seal. Once a target vacuum level is reached for the vacuum cell, a cap is bonded to the inner ring, blocking the aperture and hermetically sealing the vacuum cell. The membrane is broken so that the hermetically sealed vacuum cell can be separated from the vacuum interface to which the outer ring remains bonded.

  • Publication number: 20210342438
Abstract: A password and/or email address management platform configured to regenerate a previously generated password for a given web domain or digital system without permanently storing the previously generated password. The platform can operate without maintaining a permanent store or list of other user-related information, e.g. a list of web domains or systems for which passwords have been generated. In an embodiment, the platform performs the steps of concatenating a plurality of password input data elements into a requested phantom password input data string, applying a hashing algorithm to the requested phantom password input data string to generate a phantom password hash, applying a hash-to-string function to convert the phantom password hash to a phantom password, and purging the password generation system of the phantom password after it is notified to a user.

  • Publication number: 20210328516
Abstract: A control circuit comprising an output controller coupled to an output side of a power converter. The output controller comprises a switch control signal generator to receive a feedback signal representative of an output of the power controller and to communicate a control signal to an input controller coupled to an input side to control a turn ON of a power switch. The control signal is generated in response to the feedback signal and is communicated in response to an enable signal. The output controller comprises an extremum locator to generate the enable signal in response to a winding signal representative of an instantaneous voltage on an output terminal of an energy transfer element and the extremum locator enables the switch control signal generator such that the transition of the power switch from the OFF state to the ON state occurs substantially when the winding signal reaches an extremum.

  • Publication number: 20210262776
Abstract: An accurate and stable displacement sensor that reads through coated metal substrates achieves better than one micron accuracy includes: an electromagnetic coil positioned in a first enclosure; (ii) means for generating a magnetic field from the electromagnetic coil; (iii) a second enclosure which is spaced apart from the first enclosure, wherein the second enclosure includes dual magnetic sensors, such as fluxgate sensors, that are configured to measure the magnetic field; and (iv) means for calculating the separation between the operative surfaces of the enclosures from magnetic field measurements. A permanent magnet can be used instead of the electromagnetic coil and associated driving energy source. A precise displacement measurement is given by a mathematical function (such as the ratio or difference) of the two magnetic sensors demodulated signals. The displacement sensor can be mounted on a maneuverable C-frame to monitor the caliper of anodes and cathodes produced for lithium ion batteries.
