  • Publication number: 20110271055
Abstract: A compression technique includes storing respective fixed-size symbols for each of a plurality of words in a data block, e.g., a cache line, into a symbol portion of a compressed data block, e.g., a compressed cache line, where each of the symbols provides information about a corresponding one of the words in the data block. Up to a first plurality of data segments are stored in a data portion of the compressed data block, each data segment corresponds to a unique one of the symbols in the compressed data block and a unique one of the words in the cache line. • Patent number: 7870350
Abstract: A write buffer for read-write interlocks improves memory access performance by minimizing the latency needed to avoid a read-after-write hazard when a read follows a write to the same memory location. Rather than waiting until a write has been stored in the memory location, the write buffer provides an acknowledgement signal before the data has been stored in memory in order for a subsequent read of the memory location to proceed. The write buffer merges the data to be written with any data that is stored in memory for the read request to return the current data for the read request.

  • Publication number: 20080246335
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting a fault condition in a hydraulic brake system of a vehicle having a first hydraulic brake circuit and a second hydraulic brake circuit. A correlation ratio is determined between a measured pressure and the actual vehicle acceleration. A first wheel velocity differential is determined and a second wheel velocity differential is determined. A weighting value is selected in response to determining whether the correlation ratio is within the predetermined range and whether the first wheel velocity differential and the second wheel velocity differential are opposite signs. The selected weighting value is added to a fault counter. A determination is made whether the fault counter is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold. A fault condition is detected in response to the fault counter greater than or equal to the first predetermined threshold.
