  • Patent number: 11554603
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an optical security feature that is based on a single axis alignment of mirrors or facets in a structured surface that forms a micro mirror array. In an aspect, a device is described that includes a reflecting structure on a first layer, where the reflecting structure has a top surface with multiple embossed facets arranged in a spatial orientation that produces a flat ring optical effect upon incidence of light. In another aspect, a method for making the device is described that provides a reflecting layer and produces the reflecting structure on the reflecting layer with multiple facets arranged in the spatial orientation to produce the flat ring optical effect. In yet another aspect, an apparatus for making the device is described that includes a pressing device and a stamping device to transfer a pattern of the reflecting structure to a reflecting material.

  • Publication number: 20220410177
Abstract: A centrifuge system includes a centrifuge and a feed line fluidly connected to centrifuge with the centrifuge driven by a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system includes an electric motor driving a hydraulic pump connected to a fluid reservoir with the hydraulic pump providing hydraulic fluid to one or more hydraulic motors which in turn rotate the centrifuge. The system includes a pressure sensor for measuring fluid pressure and a speed sensor for measuring the rotational speed of the centrifuge. A controller can be in communication with the hydraulic system and the sensors and can receive measurements from the sensors and adjust the pressure of hydraulic fluid flowing to the one or more hydraulic motors to maintain a rotational speed of the centrifuge based on differing loads. The system can include one or more valves, controlled by the controller, which can also adjust the hydraulic pressure of the system.

  • Publication number: 20220406197
Abstract: A method for planning a vehicle trajectory is provided. The method comprises obtaining an edge map representation corresponding to one or more terrain images of a given area, and identifying a total number of edge pixels in each of a plurality of sub-regions of the edge map representation. The method further comprises determining a measurement probability density function (PDF) for each of the sub-regions based on the number of edge pixels with information content in each sub-region. The method then computes a trajectory cost for each of the sub-regions by dividing a user-selected scalar by a sum of: a user-selected value and the number of edge pixels with information content in each sub-region. Thereafter, the method selects a trajectory for navigation of a vehicle over the given area based on the trajectory cost for each of the sub-regions.

  • Patent number: 11527227
Abstract: A sound isolation assembly comprising: a center ferrule; a top grommet isolator; a bottom grommet isolator; a spring; and a furring channel engagement portion. The sound isolation assembly is configured to engage with a structure and a furring channel, which itself is connected to a ceiling panel, such that the noise passing from one floor to the other is lessened as compared to a control system that does not use the sound isolation assembly. The spring may be steel and the grommet isolators may be rubber or the like, and the combination of the steel spring and grommet isolators reduces noise.

  • Patent number: 11461955
Abstract: A head-mounted display comprises a display device and an outward-facing depth camera. A storage machine comprises instructions executable by a logic machine to present one or more virtual objects on the display device, to receive information from the depth camera about an environment, and to determine a position of the head-mounted display within the environment. Based on the position of the head-mounted display, a position of a joint of a user's arm is inferred. Based on the information received from the depth camera, a position of a user's hand is determined. A ray is cast from a portion of the user's hand based on the position of the joint of the user's arm and the position of the user's hand. Responsive to the ray intersecting with one or more control points of a virtual object, the user is provided with an indication that the virtual object is being targeted.

  • Publication number: 20220292818
Abstract: The present application at least describes a method for determining an identity of an object. The method includes a step of receiving an instruction to determine an identity of an object associated with a target. The method also includes a step of causing to move a first moving platform configured with a first sensor to an area associated with a target. The method further includes a step of causing to move a second moving platform configured with a second sensor to the area based on one or more of wind speed and precipitation at the area. The method even further includes a step of determining, via the second moving platform and data captured by the second sensor, the identity of the object associated with the target. The present application also describes systems and computer readable mediums directed to determining an identity of an object.

  • Publication number: 20220282438
Abstract: A hand operated snow shovel that will smoothly transition over expansion joints and uneven heights between adjacent surfaces due to the unique design of the leading edge of the blade. The leading edge of the invention is set at an angle to the centerline of the blade to create an offset which effectively makes the leading edge wider than an expansion joint opening and prevents the leading edge from dropping into the expansion joint. In addition, the leading corner of the blade is curved upwards higher than the acceptable height differences in uneven adjacent surfaces. The upwards curve creates a lifting surface for the blade which will cause the leading edge to raise as it is pushed forward allowing the leading edge to smoothly transition from a lower surface to a higher surface as the blade is pushed forward.

  • Publication number: 20220284705
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating a moving platform to determine an identity of an unidentified target are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes a step of receiving an indication to determine an identity of a target. The method also includes a step of causing to move a first moving platform configured with a first sensor to an area associated with the target. The method also includes a step of causing to move a second moving platform configured with a second sensor to the area. The move may be based on a difference between a flight profile of the first moving platform and a flight profile of the second moving platform. The flight profile may include one or more of a maximum altitude, a minimum altitude, speed and night flight capability. The method further includes a step of attempting to determine or determining, via the second moving platform and data captured by the second sensor, the identity of the target.

  • Patent number: 11409669
Abstract: Executable memory space is protected by receiving, from a process, a request to configure a portion of memory with a memory protection attribute that allows the process to perform at least one memory operation on the portion of the memory. Thereafter, the request is responded to with a grant, configuring the portion of memory with a different memory protection attribute than the requested memory protection attribute. The different memory protection attribute restricting the at least one memory operation from being performed by the process on the portion of the memory. In addition, it is detected when the process attempts, in accordance with the grant, the at least one memory operation at the configured portion of memory. Related systems and articles of manufacture, including computer program products, are also disclosed.
