  • Publication number: 20090118943
Abstract: A hybrid transmission is operative to transfer torque between an input member and torque machines and an output member in one of a plurality of fixed gear and continuously variable operating range states through selective application of torque transfer clutches. The torque machines are operative to transfer power from an energy storage device. A method for controlling the hybrid transmission includes operating the hybrid transmission in one of the operating range states, determining a first set of internal system constraints on output torque transferred to the output member, determining a second set of internal system constraints on the output torque transferred to the output member, and determining an allowable output torque range that is achievable within the first set of internal system constraints and the second set of internal system constraints on the output torque transferred to the output member.

  • Publication number: 20090031318
Abstract: Scheduling of threads in a multi-core system running various legacy applications along with multi-core compatible applications is configured such that threads from older single thread applications are assigned fixed affinity. Threads from multi-thread/single core applications are scheduled such that one thread at a time is made available to the cores based on the thread priority preventing conflicts and increasing resource efficiency. Threads from multi-core compatible applications are handled regularly.

  • Publication number: 20090031317
Abstract: Scheduling of threads in a multi-core system is performed using per-processor queues for each core to hold threads with fixed affinity for each core. Cores are configured to pick the highest priority thread among the global run queue, which holds threads without affinity, and their respective per-processor queue. To select between two threads with same priority on both queues, the threads are assigned sequence numbers based on their time of arrival. The sequence numbers may be weighted for either queue to prioritize one over the other.

  • Patent number: 7480900
Abstract: A system and method for mapping software components (e.g., source files, binary files, modules) to test cases that test the components and providing rating information regarding each test case's effectiveness against its tested components. Each test case is applied to test a corresponding subset of the components, during which data are gathered (e.g., amount or elements of a component that were tested, which components were tested, time). Each test case is applied separately so that correlations between each test case and the corresponding subset of the software components can be recorded (and vice versa). A rating is generated to indicate how completely or effectively a test case covers a software component. A bipartite graph and/or other data structures may be constructed to map test cases to the software components they test, and vice versa.
