  • Patent number: 6929483
Abstract: An electrical contact (1) includes a retention portion (10) and a cantilever (12) extending upwardly from the retention portion. The cantilever includes a first extending portion (121) and a second extending portion (120) bent vertically from the first extending portion. A top elevation projection of the second extending portion relative to the retention portion forms an acute angle therebetween. The first and second extending portions are both resiliently deformable. Thus the contact attains good resilient characteristics. Moreover, a contact strip (16) for the contact comprises an elongate carrier strip (160) and a plurality of strip contacts (1?) attached to the carrier strip. Each strip contact includes a cantilever (12?) having a second extending portion (120?). The second extending portion is orientated at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the carrier strip. Thus gaps between two adjacent strip contacts are small, which reduces production costs of the contact.

  • Patent number: 6916186
Abstract: An electrical contact (1) for electrically interconnecting two electrical components (3, 4) includes an inverted ā€œUā€-shaped retention portion (11), a substantially ā€œUā€-shaped extending portion extending (12) from the retention portion. The extending portion defines first and second mating portions (122, 121) respectively at uppermost and lowermost sections thereof, for engaging with the electrical components. The extending portion forms an engaging portion (125) to mate with the retention portion. Thus two parallel electrical paths are formed between the first and second mating portions when the contact electrically mates with the two electrical components. As a result, impedance of the contact is decreased and good resilient characteristics of the contact are attained.

  • Patent number: 6908316
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a base (2?), a metal clip (3) pivotably engaged on the base, and a lever (4) for fastening the clip onto the base. A floor (232?) is defined in a middle of the base. A rectangular raised support area (23?) is provided around a periphery of the floor. The support area defines four inner side walls (231?). The side walls and the floor cooperatively define a substantially rectangular cavity (230?) therebetween. One of the side walls defines a pair of protrusions (2310?) protruding towards the cavity, wherein the two protrusions are coplanar with each other. The other side walls define a protrusion thereof respectively. Therefore, a first benchmark is obtained by a line joining the pair of protrusions on the side wall, and a second benchmark is determined by a line passing the protrusion on the adjacent and perpendicular side wall, perpendicular to the first benchmark.
