  • Publication number: 20150035075
Abstract: A stack of a gate dielectric layer and a workfunction material layer are deposited over a plurality of semiconductor material portions, which can be a plurality of semiconductor fins or a plurality of active regions in a semiconductor substrate. A first gate conductor material applying a first stress is formed on a first portion of the workfunction material layer located on a first semiconductor material portion, and a second gate conductor material applying a second stress is formed on a second portion of the workfunction material layer located on a second semiconductor material portion. The first and second stresses are different in at least one of polarity and magnitude, thereby inducing different strains in the first and second portions of the workfunction material layer. The different strains cause the workfunction shift differently in the first and second portions of the workfunction material layer, thereby providing devices having multiple different workfunctions.

  • Publication number: 20150016281
Abstract: Access to an access point is restricted to a plurality of client devices having wireless connections with the access point. The wireless connections conform to a wireless networking protocol. A first data transmission rate is the lowest data transmission rate defined by the wireless networking protocol. It is determined that a second data transmission rate is used between a first client device of the plurality of client devices and the access point. The second data transmission rate is the lowest data transmission rate used by the plurality of client devices. The second data transmission rate is greater than the first data transmission rate. Responsive to said determining that the second data transmission rate is the lowest data transmission rate used by the plurality of client devices, a beacon frame data transmission rate is set to the second data transmission rate.

  • Publication number: 20150019281
Abstract: This invention relates to the introduction of new products into a chain of stores in a manner that minimizes out of stock at store as well as cannibalization of sales by a previous product that the new product replaces. The new product could be a new model in the case of consumer electronics products like TVs, cameras and phones or a new packaging in the case of consumer packaged goods like food and beverage products. Typical store chains initiate or stop product purchases across the chain of stores when replacing an older product with a new product. Utilizing an approach of grouping stores by sales velocity and utilizing different cutoff dates for replenishing old products ahead of new product launch across the chain of stores, a retail chain can minimize lost sales at faster turning stores and minimize cannibalization of sales at slower turning stores.
