  • Publication number: 20140003805
Abstract: A method for generating multi-level (or multi-bit) pseudo-random sequences is disclosed. This embodiment relates to communication systems, and more particularly to generating multi-level pseudo random symbol sequence. Present day systems do not employ effective mechanisms for generation of multi level PRBS in order to increase the data communication rates. Further, these systems do not cover all the possible transitions for the outputs of the system. The proposed system employs mechanisms in order to generate PRBS signals for producing multi levels signals to the electronic components. The mechanism employs alternate bit tapping techniques. In the alternate bit tapping technique, bits are tapped alternatively to determine the current state and the next state of the system. In addition, the mechanism also covers all the possible states of the output vector with transitions between the output states. This ensures that high data rates are obtained for a given bandwidth of operation.

  • Patent number: 8621322
Abstract: Methods and corresponding systems in an interleaver include loading K symbol data, in a linear order, into a matrix memory having (R·C) storage locations corresponding R rows and C columns. A sequence of interleaved addresses is produced for reading the K symbol data in an interleaved order from the matrix memory. Next, (R·C)?K interleaved addresses are queued in a first-in-first-out (FIFO) memory. After queuing (R·C)?K interleaved addresses in the FIFO memory, symbol data is output using the interleaved addresses in the FIFO memory to address and output the symbol data in the matrix memory in the interleaved order. The FIFO memory can contain at least 234 memory locations.

  • Publication number: 20130342541
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying patient-related data to a care provider are provided. Patient-related values are received. The quantity of values is greater than a graph overflow threshold indicative of an amount of display space of a graph. A set of visible values is defined based at least in part on the graph overflow threshold. Sets of hidden values and anomalous values are also defined. The values in the visible-value set are displayed within the display space of the graph. An anomaly indicator is provided for any value in both the visible-value set and the anomalous-value set, to notify a care provider of any visible anomalous patient-related value. An overflow identifier is displayed instead of any value in the hidden-values set. The overflow identifier indicates the number of values in the hidden-value set to inform the care provider as such.

  • Publication number: 20130336104
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for propagating port state to intermediary devices of a cluster in a static link aggregation environment. The methods and systems include a cluster comprising a plurality of intermediary devices in communication with a network device via a static link aggregation comprising aggregated ports from different intermediary devices of the cluster. A first device of the static link aggregation is configured to detect that a health of the first device is below a predetermined threshold and, responsive to the detection, identify one or more ports in the aggregated ports as down. A second device of the link aggregation is configured to, responsive to the identification, remove the ports from a distribution list for the static link aggregation. Upon detection that a health of a device is above a predetermined threshold, the first device may identify the ports as up.

  • Publication number: 20130336337
Abstract: The present application is directed towards sharing data link layer information of network traffic distributed across a cluster of intermediary devices. A method for sharing data link layer information across a cluster includes receiving a request packet at a first intermediary device. The first intermediary device identifies a first set of data link layer information from a data link layer of the request packet. The first intermediary device modifies the request packet for transmission on a common data backplane of the cluster to include the first set of data link layer information in the request packet. The modified request packet includes a second set of data link layer information that differs from the first set of data link layer information at the data link layer. The first intermediary device transmits the modified request packet on the common data backplane of the cluster to other devices of the cluster.

  • Patent number: 8605876
Abstract: A communications device (12) maintains profile data including a device identity and a calling line identity (CLI) associated with a PSTN connection (28) both on the device itself and also on an authentication platform (32), in order that the device can access a service (52) which requires knowledge of the CLI by way of a packet-switched connection (30). In the event that the CLI data in the communications device is corrupted or lost, the communications device transmits a request for re-authentication to a reactivation server (46) together with the device identity. On receipt of the request, the reactivation server retrieves the stored profile (50) from the authentication platform (32), and returns it to the communications device (12) to allow the profile to be restored. This process can be done without the user needing to send a new request for service over the PSTN link (28).

  • Patent number: 8601473
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach to implement I/O and storage device management in a virtualization environment. According to some approaches, a Service VM is employed to control and manage any type of storage device, including directly attached storage in addition to networked and cloud storage. The Service VM implements the Storage Controller logic in the user space, and can be migrated as needed from one node to another. IP-based requests are used to send I/O request to the Service VMs. The Service VM can directly implement storage and I/O optimizations within the direct data access path, without the need for add-on products.

  • Patent number: 8593788
Abstract: An electrode for a supercapacitor includes a block copolymer and active material particles. The block copolymer is used both to bind the particles together and to act as an electrolyte. The electrode does not have a porous structure, but rather it is pressed or rolled to achieve zero porosity and to ensure good contact between the particles and the block copolymer electrolyte. Thus, the entire surface of the active particles can be accessed for charge storage. Furthermore, the volume of such an electrode is smaller than typical electrodes with the same capacity, as none of the volume is wasted with additional, non-active binder material, offering a higher effective active material loading per unit volume. Electrodes made in this way, with block copolymer electrolyte and active materials, can also form free-standing films that are easy to handle during manufacture of supercapacitors.

  • Publication number: 20130312122
Abstract: A tamper detector has input and output pins for connection to ends of a tamper detection circuit, and a corresponding set of linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs) timed by clock signals for generating pseudo-random coded detection signals as a function of seed values and of a generator polynomial defined by feedback taps. A comparator compares signals received from the detection circuit with the coded detection signals. A multiplexer provides the coded detection signal selectively from the LFSRs to the output pin and the comparator. A controller varies the seed values for different cycles of values of the pseudo-random coded detection signals. The controller also controls the generator polynomial and a frequency of the clock signals for different cycles of values of the pseudo-random coded detection signals.
