  • Patent number: 8458039
Abstract: This document relates to the re-inclusion of items in a data feed. For example, a feed of items is sent to a referral network site. The feed includes some of the items sold through an electronic commerce network site. The referral network site refers a plurality of customers to the electronic commerce network site. One of the items excluded from the feed is identified and a forecast of sales through the electronic commerce network site is generated therefor. The forecast of sales specifies a number of the one of the items projected to be sold that are subject to a referral from the referral network site. A determination is made as to whether to include the one of the items in the feed based at least in part upon the forecast of sales.

  • Patent number: 8450792
Abstract: Gate induced drain leakage in a tunnel field effect transistor is reduced while drive current is increased by orienting adjacent semiconductor bodies, based on their respective crystal orientations or axes, to optimize band-to-band tunneling at junctions. Maximizing band-to-band tunneling at a source-channel junction increases drive current, while minimizing band-to-band tunneling at a channel-drain junction decreases GIDL. GIDL can be reduced by an order of magnitude in an embodiment. Power consumption for a given frequency can also be reduced by an order of magnitude.

  • Publication number: 20130130069
Abstract: A polymer that combines high ionic conductivity with the structural properties required for Li electrode stability is useful as a solid phase electrolyte for high energy density, high cycle life batteries that do not suffer from failures due to side reactions and dendrite growth on the Li electrodes, and other potential applications. The polymer electrolyte includes a linear block copolymer having a conductive linear polymer block with a molecular weight of at least 5000 Daltons, a structural linear polymer block with an elastic modulus in excess of 1×107 Pa and an ionic conductivity of at least 1×10?5 Scm?1. The electrolyte is made under dry conditions to achieve the noted characteristics. In another aspect, the electrolyte exhibits a conductivity drop when the temperature of electrolyte increases over a threshold temperature, thereby providing a shutoff mechanism for preventing thermal runaway in lithium battery cells.

  • Patent number: 8443224
Abstract: A circuit and method for synchronizing signals between asynchronous clock domains within digital electronic circuits decouples asynchronous clocks. The timing of the slower clock is used to prevent read and write to counters so that write signals from the fast clock domain can be directly used in the slower clock domain when the counters are not toggling. This feature removes the need for sampling and holding the data on the fast clock, which would require consume additional power and require additional circuit area.

  • Publication number: 20130104041
Abstract: An application workflow capture system records application usage and behavior semantically as a series of XML-based “events.” A capture tool is used to capture a target application workflow, and a replay tool is used to replay the captured data. The capture tool generates a workflow capture file that includes a set of information about a user's interaction with the application. When it is desired to analyze the application, the file is then provided to the replay tool. The replay tool consumes the workflow capture file and, based on the information therein, generates an executable. When launched by a player, the executable reads the captured workflow from the file and performs changes in the application properties and user inputs, preferably in the same order which they occur in the captured workflow. The behavior of the executable mimics that of the target application.
