  • Publication number: 20090113320
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for generating a graphical interface for software applications having a command line interface to enable local or remote access of such software applications in a uniform manner without regard to the location of the remote application. The location and syntax of a new software application, and any required environment settings, are specified in response to a sequence of queries. The specifications for each software application is parsed to generate a graphical client interface listing the available software applications and enabling remote access to such software applications. A desired software application is selected by a user from the client interface and the user specifies any necessary parameters for the selected software application. An input file is transferred from the client to the remote server where the selected software application is located. Any output or log files are returned to the client, for example, using the FTP protocol.

  • Publication number: 20090104523
Abstract: A polymer that combines high ionic conductivity with the structural properties required for Li electrode stability is useful as a solid phase electrolyte for high energy density, high cycle life batteries that do not suffer from failures due to side reactions and dendrite growth on the Li electrodes, and other potential applications. The polymer electrolyte includes a linear block copolymer having a conductive linear polymer block with a molecular weight of at least 5000 Daltons, a structural linear polymer block with an elastic modulus in excess of 1×107 Pa and an ionic conductivity of at least 1×10?5 Scm?1. The electrolyte is made under dry conditions to achieve the noted characteristics. In another aspect, the electrolyte exhibits a conductivity drop when the temperature of electrolyte increases over a threshold temperature, thereby providing a shutoff mechanism for preventing thermal runaway in lithium battery cells.

  • Publication number: 20090103453
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, devices and methods for improving the efficient deployment and configuration of networking equipment within a network build-out. In certain embodiments of the invention, an iterative analysis of inter-node equipment placement and connectivity, and inter- and intra-node traffic flow is performed to identify a preferred deployment solution. This analysis of deployment optimization takes into account both configurations from a network node perspective as well as from a network system perspective. Deployment solutions are iteratively progressed and analyzed to determine a preferred solution based on both the cost of deployment and satisfaction of the network demands. In various embodiments of the invention, a baseline marker is generated from which the accuracy of the solution may be approximated that suggests to an engineer whether the deployment is approaching an optimal solution.

  • Patent number: 7515076
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing switching noise in a system-on-chip (SoC) integrated circuit including an analog to digital converter (ADC) provides for reduced noise in the ADC conversions. Sampling circuits of the ADC are operated by sampling clock signals and digital circuits and other noise-generating circuits such as power converters, are operated by digital circuit clock signals. Both sets of clock signals are derived from the same master clock by a clock generator circuit, but an offset is applied in the clock generator circuit to move the edges of the digital circuit clock signals away from critical sampling intervals corresponding to edges of the sampling clocks. In one embodiment, the offset is applied by a processor core that forms part of the digital circuits by setting a value in the clock generator, which the clock generator then loads into the divider after halting the clock to the digital circuits.

  • Patent number: 7509568
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer program product to identify types of errors that occur in a communications device under test and where only the presence of an error is indicated by an error checker. Each presence of an error bit in an error signal during a first period of time output from the error data checker is identified. The error bit indicates only that a mismatch occurred between an input signal input into the device and an output signal output from the device. The error bit is generated in response to an error in the device under test. The error bit includes no information about a type of the error. The type of the error is determined by determining a number of occurrences of the error bit in the error signal during the first period of time.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to electrolyte materials. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides for a solid polymer electrolyte material that is ionically conductive, mechanically robust, and can be formed into desirable shapes using conventional polymer processing methods. An exemplary polymer electrolyte material has an elastic modulus in excess of 1×106 Pa at 90 degrees C. and is characterized by an ionic conductivity of at least 1×10?5 Scm?1 at 90 degrees C. An exemplary material can be characterized by a two domain or three domain material system. An exemplary material can include material components made of diblock polymers or triblock polymers. Many uses are contemplated for the solid polymer electrolyte materials.

  • Patent number: 7506288
Abstract: While performing functional verification on a circuit design, a verification tool allows a user to analyze the results of a previous functional analysis. The tool may also receive commands for a next verification analysis while performing a current analysis, and it may allow a user to abort a current analysis. Results from a completed analysis may be discarded or saved for viewing by a user while a next verification is performed on the circuit design. This allows a user to continue to debug and analyze the circuit design without having to wait until previous steps in the verification analysis are completed.

  • Patent number: 7500264
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems that detect maliciously formed TCP/IP retransmit packets attempting to pass through an intrusion detection system (IDS) and prevent them from reaching their destination by forcing early flow termination. The IDS may be configured to track a hash of certain fields in each packet. This set of hashes is maintained for all of the packets in the currently open TCP window for each flow. If the hash of a retransmit packet does not match the cached hash of the corresponding original packet, the system concludes that there is an attack under way and terminates the flow. The hash function may range in complexity and security from low complexity and relative insecurity to high complexity and high security. Hash algorithms may also be used in conjunction with a private seed value concatenated with the packet fields prior to hashing.
