  • Patent number: 9248800
Abstract: A vehicle includes a B-pillar garnish mounted at a side pillar assembly of the vehicle. The B-pillar garnish includes an airbag jump bracket engaging feature including a hook-shaped engaging portion extending upwardly beyond an end of an outwardly turned flange portion of the airbag jump bracket. The hook-shaped engaging portion includes a stem portion and an enlarged head portion that overhangs the end of the outwardly turned flange portion of the airbag jump bracket that engages the outwardly turned flange portion during an airbag deployment event. The stem portion is located adjacent the end of the outwardly turned flange portion of the airbag jump bracket. The stem portion is arranged to engage the end of the outwardly turned flange portion of the airbag jump bracket to limit movement of an upper end portion of the B-pillar garnish into the occupant compartment of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20150317071
Abstract: A content presentation system is disclosed for composing a visual scene for an audience using content contained in a storage device, and storing the visual appearance of the scene for later retrieval and recreation by the presentation system. Scenes are recalled in a manner that permits further manipulation of the scene during the live presentation. Scenes can furthermore be recalled in random order, or cued to time-based media such as video, modifying existing elements in the staging area to the extent necessary to recreate the stored scene.

  • Publication number: 20150199164
Abstract: A user interface for a content presentation system is disclosed for displaying and manipulating graphical multimedia content for an audience while hiding operator-specific elements from the audience. The operator-specific elements are permitted to overlap the audience-viewable elements on the operator's display, allowing for optimal use of screen real estate particularly on smaller touch-based devices. The use of a multithreaded programming architecture is preferably employed to take advantage of multi-cored CPUs and GPUs, allowing the operator and audience displays to be governed by separate CPU cores or threads and therefore perform graphical manipulations with high efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20150128561
Abstract: An exhaust nozzle for a gas turbine engine may include a plurality of flap trains in the exhaust stream of the gas turbine engine. The flap trains are operable to selectively control three separate flow paths of gas that traverse the engine. A first stream of is the core airflow. The second stream of air is peeled off of the first stream to form a low pressure fan bypass air stream. The third stream of air traverses along the engine casing and is passed over a flap assembly to aid in cooling. The flaps are operable converge/diverge to control the multiple streams of air.

  • Patent number: 8598248
Abstract: The present invention provides flexible conventional polyurethane foams made from at least one polyisocyanate and at least one vegetable oil alkoxylated in the presence of a double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst, optionally at least one non-vegetable oil-based polyol, generally in the presence of a blowing agent and optionally in the presence of a surfactant, pigment, flame retardant, catalyst or filler. The alkoxylated natural oil must have (a) an ethylene oxide content in the alkoxylated segment greater than 20% by weight, (b) a primary hydroxyl group content of at least 10%, with the sum of (a)+(b) being at least 30% but no greater than 60%, The alkoxylated natural oils are environmentally-friendly, bio-based polyols which can be used to increase the “green” content of polyurethane foams without having detrimental effects on foam properties.

  • Patent number: 8545862
Abstract: Anionic polyelectrolytes are used as binding agents to reduce the solubility of cationic antimicrobial polyelectrolytes. Ionic attraction between the anionic stabilizing polyelectrolytes and the antimicrobial cationic polyelectrolytes results in formation of a polyelectrolyte complex (PEC). A treatment liquid comprising a stable colloid, suspension, dispersion, solution, coacervate, or emulsion of the PEC in an aqueous carrier is used to treat an article, thus coating, infiltrating, or infusing the PEC onto or into the article. Subsequent drying results in an antimicrobial article wherein the PEC is bound to the article and is significantly less prone, relative to either of the component polyelectrolytes, to being washed, leached, leaked, extracted, or migrated from the antimicrobial article during use, or when exposed to aqueous fluids or solvents.
