  • Patent number: 10835074
Abstract: A capsule containing a substance for the preparation of a potable beverage. The capsule comprises an aluminum capsule body having a side wall and an outwardly extending flange and a sealing member at the outwardly extending flange for providing a fluid sealing contact with an enclosing member of a beverage preparation device. The beverage preparation device comprises an annular element having a free contact end which may be provided with a plurality of radially extending open grooves. The sealing member is integral with the outwardly extending flange and comprises at least one projection projecting from the outwardly extending flange. The projection comprising a projection top and is configured such that its projection top exerts a radial force on the free contact end of the annular element if the capsule is positioned in the enclosing member of the beverage preparation device and the enclosing member is closed by means of a closing member of the beverage preparation device.

  • Publication number: 20200310796
Abstract: An apparatus has processing circuitry to perform, in response to decoding of an iterative-operation instruction by the instruction decoder, an iterative operation comprising at least two iterations of processing where one iteration depends on an operand generated in a previous iteration. Preliminary information generating circuitry performs a preliminary portion of processing for a given iteration to generate preliminary information. Result generating circuitry performs a remaining portion of processing for the given iteration, to generate a result value using the preliminary information. Forwarding circuitry forwards the result value as an operand for a next iteration of the iterative operation, for iterations other than the final iteration. The preliminary information generating circuitry starts performing the preliminary portion for the next iteration in parallel with the result generating circuitry completing the remaining portion for the current iteration, to improve performance.

  • Patent number: 10748224
Abstract: A continuously growing physical structure may be generated by identifying a plurality of metrics associated with the physical structure. The plurality of metrics may include at least one of a shape of available physical space, a size of available physical space, a type of soil/earth of a location of the physical structure, a context of use of the physical structure, a climate of the location, or availability of resources associated with the location. The plurality of metrics may be analyzed to determine at least one of a rate of growth of the physical structure or a most suitable shape of the physical structure. Growth of the physical structure may then be generated according to at least one of the determined rate of growth of the physical structure or the determined most suitable shape of the physical structure. The identified plurality of metrics may then be monitored periodically.

  • Patent number: 10750637
Abstract: A removable immersion cooling infrastructure module can have a form factor equivalent to that of one or more of the computing devices being cooled by immersion cooling, thereby enabling the immersion cooling infrastructure module to be installed and removed in the same simplified and efficient manner. Moreover, the quantity of immersion cooling infrastructure modules can be varied depending on need, since the immersion cooling infrastructure modules and computing devices can be interchangeable within the openings designed to house the computing devices. An immersion cooling infrastructure module can comprise a filter, a pump that can circulate the immersion cooling liquid through the filter, a power supply and a controller, with the module receiving power, and, optionally, communications and other like connectivity, from the same source as the computing devices.

  • Publication number: 20200256085
Abstract: The spring wire clip fastens fence wire to T-posts. The clip is constructed from hardened high carbon spring steel and has a geometry that allows the clip to be installed with no tools. The middle of the clip has a shape complementary to the T-post spine, typically a “V” shape, such that the clip wraps around the spine and the two ends extend laterally. Each end has a curl that can engage the fence wire on either side of the T-post. The clips can be installed five times faster than with standard twist-type clips and can be repositioned, or reused, as the attachment is not permanent.

  • Publication number: 20200234202
Abstract: Improving the operations of a computer system that is located within a power grid and that is associated with its own power sources. Past operational characteristics of the power grid are analyzed to derive learned characteristics for the power grid. Future operational characteristics of the power grid are also monitored. A prediction regarding a future load event associated with the power grid is then generated using the learned characteristics and the monitored characteristics. In response to this prediction, one or more operations are performed to balance the computer system with the power grid during the future load event, and to ensure a determined availability of services associated with the computer system during the future load event.

  • Publication number: 20200183400
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of performing RFID-based navigation of an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV). An intended location of the AGV is determined based at least in part on a previously determined location of the AGV and further based at least in part on a calculated motion of the AGV from the previously determined location. The AGV includes an RFID device that is paired with RFID devices in an environment of the AGV. The RFID device of the AGV and one or more of the RFID devices in the environment may communicate in accordance with an RFID technique to enable the AGV to determine an actual location of the AGV. A reference location of the AGV on which navigation of the AGV is based is set to be the actual location rather than the intended location.
