  • Patent number: 9854072
Abstract: An egress packet modifier includes a script parser and a pipeline of processing stages. Rather than performing egress modifications using a processor that fetches and decodes and executes instructions in a classic processor fashion, and rather than storing a packet in memory and reading it out and modifying it and writing it back, the packet modifier pipeline processes the packet by passing parts of the packet through the pipeline. A processor identifies particular egress modifications to be performed by placing a script code at the beginning of the packet. The script parser then uses the code to identify a specific script of opcodes, where each opcode defines a modification. As a part passes through a stage, the stage can carry out the modification of such an opcode. As realized using current semiconductor fabrication process, the packet modifier can modify 200M packets/second at a sustained rate of up to 100 gigabits/second.

  • Publication number: 20170353138
Abstract: Disclosed examples include power conversion systems, computer readable mediums and methods for mitigating input filter resonance, in which a controller operates an active front end (AFE) rectifier in a first mode to turn a single rectifier switching device on and off and measures a filter voltage or current signal while all of the rectifier switches are off. The controller determines a resonant frequency based on a transient response of the measured voltage or current signal, and selectively adjusts a rectifier control parameter to mitigate filter resonance based on the resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 9836445
Abstract: An custom page server is provided with user preferences organized into templates stored in compact data structures and the live data used to fill the templates stored local to the page server which is handing user requests for custom pages. One process is executed on the page server for every request. The process is provided a user template for the user making the request, where the user template is either generated from user preferences or retrieved from a cache of recently used user templates. Each user process is provided access to a large region of shared memory which contains all of the live data needed to fill any user template. Typically, the pages served are news pages, giving the user a custom selection of stock quotes, news headlines, sports scores, weather, and the like. With the live data stored in a local, shared memory, any custom page can be built within the page server, eliminating the need to make requests from other servers for portions of the live data.

  • Patent number: 9819255
Abstract: Control apparatus, techniques and computer readable mediums are presented to mitigate LCL filter resonance issue for voltage source converters. Two level voltage source converter with and without passive damping of LCL filter are selected for the comparative study. Control algorithms are presented to estimate the source impedance based on variable carrier PWM. Estimated source impedance is used to tune the control of the VSC to avoid the resonance of LCL filter has been presented. In situations in which LCL resonance cannot be avoided by tuning the control parameters, energy efficient techniques are disclosed to provide selective passive damping to facilitate continued power conversion system operation without significant adverse impact on system performance.

  • Patent number: 9809130
Abstract: An electric motor control system for a vehicle includes a vehicle speed module that determines a vehicle speed. A closed loop (CL) module determines a CL torque based on a difference between a target vehicle speed and the vehicle speed. A motor torque module determines a motor torque based on the CL torque and a motor torque request determined based on a position of an accelerator pedal. A switching control module controls switching of an inverter based on the motor torque to control application of power to an electric motor of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9796372
Abstract: A method for controlling a powertrain of a vehicle includes calculating, via a controller, an optimal torque target for the powertrain as a function of system limits of the vehicle. The method includes commanding, via transmission of an output torque signal, an actual output torque of the powertrain to pursue or follow the calculated optimal torque target during a steady-state torque request condition. Additionally, the method includes detecting a predetermined vehicle event during the steady-state torque request condition, and shaping the output torque signal via the controller. A variable gain factor may be used in response to detection of the predetermined vehicle event to allow the output torque signal to temporarily deviate from the calculated optimal torque target during the steady-state torque request condition. A powertrain has an engine, an electric machine, and a controller programmed to execute the method.

  • Publication number: 20170297553
Abstract: A method for controlling a powertrain system in response to a command to execute a multi-state shift event for the transmission includes determining an initial output torque limit and determining an initial commanded output torque based upon the initial output torque limit. The powertrain system is controlled to generate torque in response to the initial commanded output torque prior to completion of a first state transition of the multi-state shift event that includes a commanded torque reduction. After completion of the first state transition of the multi-state shift event that includes the commanded torque reduction, a torque ramp rate is determined, and the initial commanded output torque is adjusted based upon the torque ramp rate. The powertrain system is controlled to generate torque in response to the initial commanded output torque and the adjusted initial commanded output torque during a remainder of the multi-state shift event.

  • Patent number: 9722919
Abstract: In one embodiment, a router located at an exit edge of an autonomous system (AS) receives a data packet in a data plane, and determines a destination of the data packet and an associated AS-path information to the destination. The router may then insert the AS-path information into the data packet, and forwards the data packet with the AS-path information toward the destination, such that a receiving device in a destination AS can validate whether the data packet was routed through a path that was secure from a control plane perspective based on a collection of one or more insertions of AS-path information.

  • Patent number: 9716308
Abstract: A wideband multi-function phased array antenna aperture includes a plurality of low and high frequency phased array apertures that are asymmetrically dispersed over a largest aperture. Each aperture of the plurality of low and high frequency phased array apertures includes a plurality of frequency scaled radiating elements. The antenna aperture consolidates many functions into a single wideband multi-function phased array antenna where the use of frequency scaled elements reduces the total number of elements needed, thereby reducing the size, weight, power, cost and radar cross section when compared to conventional wideband phased array architectures.

  • Patent number: 9700578
Abstract: It has been surprisingly discovered that administration of nitrite to subjects causes a reduction in blood pressure and an increase in blood flow to tissues. The effect is particularly beneficial, for example, to tissues in regions of low oxygen tension. This discovery provides useful treatments to regulate a subject's blood pressure and blood flow, for example, by the administration of nitrite salts. Provided herein are methods of administering a pharmaceutically-acceptable nitrite salt to a subject, for treating, preventing or ameliorating a condition selected from: (a) ischemia-reperfusion injury (e.g., hepatic or cardiac or brain ischemia-reperfusion injury); (b) pulmonary hypertension (e.g., neonatal pulmonary hypertension); or (c) cerebral artery vasospasm.
