Abstract: Embodiments include methods of managing network slices in a communications network by a domain manager of a Radio Access Network (RAN). Such methods include determining a change in cell composition of the RAN and determining neighbor cells within the RAN affected by the change in cell composition of the RAN. Such methods also include determining a set of RAN resource partitions affected by the change in cell composition of the RAN and adapting the configuration of RAN resource partitions of the set of RAN resource partitions by introducing changes corresponding to the change in cell composition of the RAN. Embodiments also include domain manager apparatus configured to perform operations corresponding to such methods.

  • Patent number: 11154725
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for planning radiosurgical treatments for neuromodulating a portion of the renovascular system may be used to plan radiosurgical neuromodulation treatments for conditions or disease associated with elevated central sympathetic drive. The renal nerves may be located and targeted at the level of the ganglion and/or at postganglionic positions, as well as preganglionic positions. Target regions include the renal plexus, celiac ganglion, the superior mesenteric ganglion, the aorticorenal ganglion and the aortic plexus. Planning of radiosurgical treatments will optionally employ a graphical representation of a blood/tissue interface adjacent these targets.

  • Publication number: 20210297910
Abstract: In one example aspect, a method of handover is provided. The method comprises determining a first handover candidate list for a first user equipment (UE). The first UE is connected to a first cell and is associated with a first network slice. In response to a determination that the first handover candidate list indicates no valid candidate target cells for handover of the first UE, the method comprises determining a second handover candidate list for a second UE, wherein the second UE is connected to the first cell, and causing the second UE to handover to a second cell indicated in the second handover candidate list.

  • Patent number: 11097127
Abstract: A system that generates a three-dimensional model of a tissue surface, for example the inner surface of the heart from two-dimensional image data slices. On this surface, one or more pattern lines are drawn, e.g., by a physician using a user interface, to designate desired lesion(s) on the surface. From the pattern lines, a three-dimensional volume for a lesion can be determined using known constraints. Advantageously, the series of boundaries generated by the three-dimensional volume may be projected back onto the individual CT scans, which then may be transferred to a standard radiosurgical planning tool. A dose cloud may also be projected on the model to aid in evaluating a plan.

  • Patent number: 10974075
Abstract: Method and systems are disclosed for radiating a moving target inside a heart. The method includes acquiring sequential volumetric representations of an area of the heart and defining a target tissue region and/or a radiation sensitive structure region in 3D for a first of the representations. The target tissue region and/or radiation sensitive structure region are identified for another of the representations by an analysis of the area of the heart from the first representation and the other representation. Radiation beams to the target tissue region are fired in response to the identified target tissue region and/or radiation sensitive structure region from the other representation.

  • Publication number: 20210008392
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for radiating a moving object. The method may comprise acquiring a plurality of indicators of the phase of a physiological cycle of a patient and a plurality of images of the patient that include a target. Each image may be taken at a different phase of the physiological cycle and may be registered to the phase at which the image was taken. The method may also include identifying the target in each of the plurality of images, calculating a dose of radiation required to treat the target, calculating the number, orientation, and dwell time of one or more radiation beams required to deliver the calculated required dose of radiation to the target, and calculating a position of each of the one or more radiation beams required to achieve the calculated orientation. Each position may be a function of the phase of the physiological cycle to which each of the plurality of images is registered.

  • Publication number: 20200196154
Abstract: A domain manager (320) of a Radio Access Network, RAN, determines a configuration of a RAN resource partition of a network slice. The configuration defines which network elements of the RAN are assigned to the RAN resource partition of the network slice. The domain manager (320) receives at least one report (407, 408, 409) indicating, for at least one of the network elements assigned to the RAN resource partition, an amount of traffic of the network slice handled by the network element in an observation time window. Based on the at least one report (407, 408, 409), the domain manager (320) adapts the configuration of the RAN resource partition by removing one or more of the network elements from the RAN resource partition.

  • Patent number: 10582392
Abstract: Reallocation of a capacity boost cell between first and second operators in a cellular radio communications network is carried out by detecting a drop in load for the first operator, in the area of coverage of the capacity boost cell, below a first threshold, and reallocating automatically the capacity boost cell to the second operator in response to the detected drop in load, if the first operator has authorised a reallocation. The capacity boost cell can be reallocated automatically back to the first operator in response to detecting a subsequent increase in load above a second threshold for the first operator. This can improve utilisation of the capacity boost cell during low load periods while still having it available for the first operator for high load periods, and can provide access to additional capacity for the second operator without need for costly additional infrastructure.
