  • Patent number: 9406092
Abstract: A social networking system predicts a life event (e.g., birthday, change in marital status, relationship status, etc.) for a target user based on information associated with the user. The social networking system identifies gift suggestions to provide to one or more friends of the user based on the predicted event. A gift suggestion may include an invitation to purchase or send an item, voucher, or other gift to the target user, wherein the gift may be determined based on information about the target user's interests obtained by the social networking system. The social networking system sends a gift suggestion to one or more friends of the target user, where the gift suggestion identifies the predicted life event and provides the gift suggestion to the target user's friend. The advertisement may require action by multiple of the target user's friends before the gift is sent to the target user.

  • Publication number: 20160152911
Abstract: A process for preparing torrefied densified biomass and/or torrefied densified biosolids comprising about 2% to about 25% w/w combustible liquid is disclosed. The process involves densifying biomass and/or biosolids, or providing a densified biomass and/or densified biosolids, and submerging the densified material in a hot combustible liquid for about 2 to about 120 minutes until the densified material is torrefied. The combustible liquid may be derived from any source exemplified by an oil such as those derived from plant, marine and animal sources, or alternatively, a petroleum product. The combustible liquid is heated to a temperature in the range of about 160° C. to about 320° C. prior to submersion of the densified biomass material. Also disclosed is a biomass torrefied densified biomass and/or torrefied densified biosolid comprising about 2% to about 25% w/w combustible liquid.

  • Patent number: 9257708
Abstract: A shut-off valve or connecting valve capable of connecting a fuel supply to a fuel cell is disclosed. The valve comprises a first valve component and a second valve component. Each valve component has an outer housing and a biased slidable member disposed inside the housing forming an internal seal. During the connection process, the two valve components establish an inter-component seal. Afterward, in one suitable embodiment the slidable member moves inward and opens the internal seal in the valve component to establish a flow path. In another embodiment, the slidable member moves inward and exposes a first filler and the first filler abuts a second filler in the other valve component to establish a flow path. In other embodiments, at least one valve component is sized and dimensioned to limit access to the internal seal.
