  • Publication number: 20200142570
Abstract: Methods and systems for bound based contextual zoom are disclosed. Legacy WINDOWS desktop and web applications were designed for a mouse or other high-precision pointing device, and as such, small controls and closely grouped controls/icons were commonly designed/used on the screen. Interacting with such applications remoted to a touch-based device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet) is difficult. Bound based contextual zoom overcomes at least some of these limitations by permitting a user to zoom in on an area of interest within an application or desktop, and for a period of time long enough to complete the touch interaction. The area zoomed might be a group of controls on a ribbon bar, the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the top-right corner of a window, a group of form input controls, or any other natural cluster of related user interface (UI) elements.

  • Patent number: 10627827
Abstract: A method of controlling a vehicle includes sensing a first boundary lane indicator and a second boundary lane indicator of an adjacent traffic lane, which is laterally offset from a current traffic lane of the vehicle. The first boundary lane indicator, the second boundary lane indicator, and/or a centerline of the adjacent traffic lane, may be transposed onto the current traffic lane of the vehicle, and used to maneuver the vehicle in order to maintain a position of the vehicle within the current traffic lane, when a left boundary lane indicator and/or a right boundary lane indicator of the current traffic lane is determined to be an unsatisfactory delineator of the current traffic lane.

  • Patent number: 10561222
Abstract: A rotary airless compact including facing concentric arcuate inner and annular outer walls which are manually rotatable relative to each other, and a flexible tube extending between the walls and secured to the inner wall. The outer wall has radial ribs projecting inwardly to crimp the tube at spaced locations against the inner wall, providing successive seals between which the tube has internally open regions for holding fluid product. As the outer wall rotates relative to the inner wall in a direction from a first to a second end of the tube, product is drawn from a supply pouch at the first end into successive open regions of the tube in discrete quantities separated by the seals, and the ribs advance the seals and open regions to the second end, where a nozzle or other dispensing element discharges the quantities of product into a pan area of the compact.

  • Patent number: 10475087
Abstract: A social networking system predicts a life event (e.g., birthday, change in marital status, relationship status, etc.) for a target user based on information associated with the user. The social networking system identifies gift suggestions to provide to one or more friends of the user based on the predicted event. A gift suggestion may include an invitation to purchase or send an item, voucher, or other gift to the target user, wherein the gift may be determined based on information about the target user's interests obtained by the social networking system. The social networking system sends a gift suggestion to one or more friends of the target user, where the gift suggestion identifies the predicted life event and provides the gift suggestion to the target user's friend. The advertisement may require action by multiple of the target user's friends before the gift is sent to the target user.

  • Patent number: 10452067
Abstract: A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a current object position module, an expected position module, and an object position comparison module. The current object position module can determine a first position of an object with respect to a position of a vehicle based upon sensor data generated by a first object detection sensor within the vehicle and determines a second position of the object with respect to the position of the vehicle based upon sensor data generated by a second object detection sensor. The expected object position module can determine an expected position of the object with respect to the position of the vehicle based upon the first position of the object. The object position comparison module can determine whether at least one object detection sensor is improperly installed within the vehicle based upon comparing the second position of the object with the expected position.
