  • Publication number: 20090186137
Abstract: A method for delivering a long coffee extract from a capsule containing ground coffee within a flow time of 50 seconds or less by injection of water under pressure within the capsule. The capsule is filled with ground coffee and has a delivery membrane. The capsule is extracted in a coffee extraction device, and pressurized water is injected in the capsule under pressure. The coffee beverage is released through the beverage delivery membrane of the capsule with engaging means engaging in and/or against the membrane. The pressure loss is reduced in the coffee bed by providing in the capsule coffee ground having a controlled percentage of fines (F) depending on the average particle size (D4,3). The flow time can be lowered to 40 seconds or even less while maintaining a coffee extraction yield within a high range of 15 to 30%.

  • Publication number: 20090120622
Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger for water-cooled network cabinets and to a method for cooling network cabinets, particularly server cabinets. The heat exchanger is constructed as an air-water heat exchanger in redundant form and ensures a leaktight arrangement and cooling in a network cabinet. The heat exchanger has two heat exchanger elements with separate cooling water connections which, accompanied by the formation of a space, are provided for the supply of exhaust air from the cabinet interior. A partition is adjustably placed in the space and in the case of a fault, e.g. if one heat exchanger element or a cooling circuit fails, the corresponding heat exchanger element is aerodynamically blocked with the aid of the partition. The entire exhaust air is cooled in the intact heat exchanger element and supplied to the cabinet interior, so that no interruption of operation is necessary.

  • Patent number: 7484665
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for reading, while using optical interference, a barcode that extends into the depth of a substrate. The barcode is represented by an area with marks in the substrate that is partially transparent to electromagnetic radiation. The inventive method comprises the steps of irradiating the substrate with short coherence length light from a broad-band light source, dividing the light up into reference light and measuring light, returning the reference light and the measuring light back-scattered or reflected in the marked area to an analytical unit, determining the reflectance or the reflectivity of the substrate for all layer depths in the marked area from the interference of the reference light and the measuring light and interpreting the result as a barcode.

  • Publication number: 20080285228
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for cooling equipment and network cabinets, particularly server cabinets, in which the fans are integrated into a door. The resulting fan door, in the closed position, covers an access area of the rear of the cabinet and longitudinally adjacent to the fan door is arranged in fixed manner an air-to-fluid heat exchanger, whilst covering a residual area of the rear of the cabinet and to which is articulated the fan door. The heat loss given off to a cooling liquid, particularly cold water, in the heat exchanger is removed via a pipe system outside the cabinet installation area and rigid connecting pipes of a gas-tight material can be used for the connection of the heat exchangers of the individual cabinets to the building-side pipe system.

  • Publication number: 20080070492
Abstract: The invention relates to a cooling system for equipment and network cabinets, particularly server cabinets, and to a method for cooling equipment and network cabinets. The cabinets have an airtight construction and are provided with an atmospheric humidity stabilization in order to avoid damage as a result of condensate formation and a reduction of the absolute atmospheric humidity. • Publication number: 20070017536
Abstract: Method for operating a rod maker of the tobacco-processing industry. In order to place additives, e.g., flavoring agents, in a cigarette in a location-dependent manner, a tobacco cake or tobacco web is formed from deposited tobacco. Furthermore, an extrudate is formed. The extrudate is applied to the deposited tobacco. The extrudate contains a basic component. An additive is fed to the basic component in a discontinuous manner. • Publication number: 20060098207
Abstract: Method for the interferometric determination of the change to an optical spacing between two planes in a sample at a transition from a first to a second measurement point on the sample, the sample being illuminated with high band width light and the sample is at least partly transmitting for the light and the planes that are partly reflecting, with the steps of the spectral dispersion of the superposition of the light beams reflected at the planes for both measurement points. A determination of the modulation frequencies and phase positions of the spectrograms and the differentiation of these results can be made for providing a conclusion concerning a first value for the optical separation change of the planes from the difference of the modulation frequencies alone and calculation of a second, more precise value for the optical separation change from the first value, while taking account of the phase difference.
