  • Publication number: 20080115313
Abstract: A surface-treating appliance in the form of a vacuum cleaner has a main body, a surface-treating head and a support assembly. The support assembly is moveable between a supporting position, in which it supports the main body, and a stored position, in which it lies substantially against the main body. The provision of a support assembly that lies substantially against the main body of the appliance when not needed improves the maneuverability and range of motion achievable by the appliance in use. The support assembly may be brought out of its supporting position by a user-depressible pedal, which makes the appliance user-friendly.

  • Patent number: 7366915
Abstract: A digital license corresponds to encrypted digital content and includes a content key for decrypting same. The content key is encrypted and is decryptable by a decryption key available only to the first persona, the license thereby being tied to the first persona. The license is a first license and further includes referral information specifying a first location at which a second persona may obtain a second license for the content tied thereto. The second persona requests to render the content by way of the first license and the request is denied because the first license is not tied to the second persona. The referral information is obtained from the first license and employed to initiate contact with the specified first location and obtain the second license tied to the second persona.

  • Patent number: 7341609
Abstract: A reforming and hydrogen purification system operating with minimal pressure drop for producing free hydrogen from different hydrogen rich fuels includes a hydrogen reforming catalyst bed in a vessel in communication with a core unit containing a hydrogen permeable selective membrane. The vessel is located within an insulated enclosure which forms an air inlet passageway and an exhaust passageway on opposite sides of the vessel. Air and raffinate pass through a burner within the air inlet passageway, providing a heated flue gas to heat the catalyst to the reaction temperature needed to generate free hydrogen from the feedstock. The burner flue gas flows laterally over and along the length of the bed between the input and output ends of the bed. Hydrogen is recovered from the core for use by a hydrogen-consuming device such as a fuel cell. The remaining unrecovered hydrogen in the reformed gases is contained in raffinate and is used to supply process heat via the burner.

  • Publication number: 20080052503
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for implementing service qualifiers that define on-demand management requirements for a loosely coupled, platform independent software service in a service component architecture (SCA) for an integration server by associating a service qualifier with one or more of an SCA service reference, an SCA wire, an SCA interface, or an SCA implementation based on an SCA component definition, requiring the integration server to augment an implementation execution for the SCA service to honor the service qualifier; and accepting user modification and definition of declarative service qualifiers. By allowing the association of service qualifiers with SCA service references, SCA wires, SCA interfaces, and SCA implementations, additional quality of service with which components are executed can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 7292381
Abstract: Described is a method for conforming electronics to arbitrary shapes. The method comprises acts of forming a device structure to have a growth substrate, an etch stop layer affixed with the growth substrate, and a micro-electronic array. The micro-electronic array comprises a plurality of components atop the etch stop layer. The micro-electronic array is thereafter embedded into a shrinkable layer. The shrinkable layer is then mounted onto a handle wafer that includes a layer of adhering film with the shrinkable layer being pressed into the layer of adhering film. The growth substrate and the etch stop layer are thereafter removed. The adhering film is then dissolved to demount the micro-electronic array and shrinkable layer. Finally, the shrinkable layer is shrunk to conform the micro-electronic array to a three-dimensional shape, with the growth orientation flipped such that metal interconnects may be made to both the top and bottom of the chip.
