  • Patent number: 9867515
Abstract: A cleaner head for a cleaning appliance, comprising a brushbar, a housing defining a chamber which at least partially surrounds the brushbar, the chamber having a dirty air inlet and a dirty air outlet, and a scraper having a working edge which extends in the longitudinal direction of the brushbar. The scraper is arranged such that, in use, the working edge scrapes debris entrained by the brushbar from the brushbar. The working edge has a profile which is shaped such that debris which accumulates at the working edge is drawn by the airflow through the cleaner head along the working edge towards the dirty air outlet.

  • Patent number: 9832646
Abstract: A system for providing continuous automated verification of user identity and intent includes a processor within at least one server that implements a first processing node and a second processing node for monitoring a mirrored live-data flow of a live-data flow passing through the first processing node in a non-intrusive manner that does not affect the live-data flow passing through the first processing node to detect relevant network access and activity in the mirrored live data flow. At the second processing node, a first set of verification criteria, comprising a first set of dynamically generated dialog of questions with associated answers to be provided by the at least one user, are dynamically generated based on live data inputs from the mirrored live-data flow and external data sources to verify an identify and an activity of the at least one user attempting to access the network prior to access and performing an activity on the network.

  • Patent number: 9819807
Abstract: A method for detecting and intercepting at least one of fraud, security breach, intrusion or misuse of network resources monitors at least one of a plurality of simultaneous live data flows that are in active transmission between a first endpoint and a second endpoint in a network prior to the storage of data within the live data flows in a database, to take action to control the operation of a network. Prescribed detection algorithms are updated for detecting prescribed patterns and deduced detection algorithms are updated for detecting deduced patterns within the plurality of simultaneous live data flows with at least one of live data conditions and external data sources. The deduced and prescribed patterns that indicate occurrence of at least one of fraud, security breach, intrusion or misuse of the network are detected from at least one of the live data flows and the external data sources using the prescribed detection algorithms and the deduced detection algorithms.

  • Patent number: 9763093
Abstract: A system and method monitors for fraudulent transactions relating to a mobile device. Either of first and second processing nodes places a hold on a transaction associated with the first live-data flow and the second live-data flow responsive to detection of a potentially fraudulent condition. A third processing node generates an interactive verification communication responsive to the first data associated with the first live-data flow and the second data associated with the second live-data flow to establish a validity of the transaction. The third processing node releases the hold on the transaction responsive to the interactive verification communication determining the potentially fraudulent condition relates to a non-fraudulent transaction and generates a fraud detection response responsive to the interactive verification communication determining the potentially fraudulent condition relates to a fraudulent transaction before the transaction completes.

  • Publication number: 20170220687
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe low latency pre-web classification of query data. In examples, processing is performed where query data may be analyzed in a low latency manner that includes providing a vertical intent classification and entity identification for query data before a web ranking service processes the query data. Query data may be received. A vertical intent classification index may be searched using the query data. In examples, the vertical intent classification index may comprise a set of files that can be used to determine one or more candidate entity identifiers for the query data. The one or more entity identifiers may be ranked. The query data, a vertical intent classification for the vertical intent classification index and the one or more ranked candidate entity identifiers may be transmitted for processing associated with a web ranking service. Other examples are also described.

  • Patent number: 9709431
Abstract: In some implementations, a system obtains activity data for a sump pump associated with a property where the obtained activity data indicates a present operational status of the sump pump. The system obtains water level data associated with the property where the water level data indicates a level of water within the property, determines that the activity data indicates that the sump pump is operating and that the water level within the property satisfies a water level risk threshold, and, in response to the determination that the activity data indicates that the sump pump is operating and that the water level within the property satisfies a water level risk threshold, provides a notification that the property is at risk of suffering water damage.

  • Publication number: 20170173307
Abstract: Most spinal cord therapies are administered systemically, with only a small portion of the therapeutic reaching the spinal cord. A novel method for delivering therapeutics directly to the spinal cord is provided. The method uses a duel-balloon catheter to isolate the microvasculature around a region of the spinal cord. Once isolated, one or more therapeutics are delivered directly to the spinal cord blood supply. This allows for smaller, safer therapeutic does to be utilized.

  • Patent number: 9679425
Abstract: We describe a control and monitoring system and method for access to a restricted area, such as mass transport systems (subways, trains, airports, ships and others), commercial buildings, schools, factories, datacenters, and other places with people moving, composed of a Processing Unit (10) that receives information both from a User Authentication Device (20) and an Image Capture Device (40). The Processing Unit (10) processes this information determining user category as well as user location, speed and direction of movement within a Gated Area (GA). In turn, the Processing Unit (10) triggers one or more Bars of Luminous Elements (31) arranged in Barriers (30) limiting a Gated Area (GA), giving every user (Authorized User [AU], Unauthorized User [UU] or Special User [SU]) a User Category Window (311, 312 or 313) that follows the movement of the user within the Gated Area (GA).
