Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing electronic documents. In particular, embodiments of the present invention are focussed on managing ingestion of documents into an information system, such as ingestion of documents generated by a device having scanning functionality. Embodiments include devices, software (defined by computer executable code), carrier media, and methodologies. In overview, a document is received from an ingestion source, such as a Multi Function Device (MFD) having a scanner. For example, the document is a scanned into an electronic form from a paper form. Abstract: A wind powered craft carrying a generally vertical mast which is rotatable about its vertical axis, having a sail carried by the mast with its bottom edge attached in proximity to the bottom of the mast and extending to an attachment point in proximity to the top of the mast. A generally horseshoe-shaped member having an open end is and extending around said mast. The mast being rotatable within the horseshoe-shaped member. A bearing supported stationary member at the top of the mast is carried by the mast while allowing the mast to rotate. A support stay runs from the horseshoe-shaped member to the bearing supported member to support the horseshoe-shaped member. Additional stays are attached to the horseshoe-shaped member and splayed to attach to opposed sides of the hull of the watercraft. • Publication number: 20150175278
Abstract: A gas gun launcher has a pump tube and a launch tube with a first end of the launch tube slidably inserted into a second end of the pump tube. The pump tube may hold a heat exchanger to heat a light gas used to launch a vehicle. A sliding seal can be employed to manage recoil and to retain the gas within the launch tube and the pump tube. A fast-closing muffler at the second end of the launch tube can conserve the light gas utilized for launching a vehicle, enabling the light gas to be recycled. A launch tube alignment system is preferably automatic, ensuring the survival of the launch vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20150148094
Abstract: A method of internally heating a power supply of an electronic device in reduced temperatures is provided. The method comprises positioning an antenna of the electronic device proximate to the power supply and receiving a “temperature” signal that is a function of a temperature of the power supply. When it is determined that the temperature is within a reduced operating-temperature range, the temperature is elevated and the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the power supply is correspondingly reduced by actively sending current through the antenna. The “current sending” operation is reduced when the temperature of the portable electronic device is outside the reduced operating-temperature range.

  • Patent number: 9000003
Abstract: The present invention is anti-folate antimalarials with dual-binding modes of the general formula (I) [refer to structure in the abstract] wherein R1 and R2 which may be the same or different are independently selected from methyl or ethyl or alkylphenyl, R3 is independently hydrogen, halide, lower alkyl substituted with ester, carboxylic, amide, and ether. Linker is X(CH2)nY wherein X and Y which may be the same or different are independently selected from oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, substituted phenyl where n is an integer from 1 to 2-6, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts therefore. The anti-folate antimalarials with dual-binding modes act as novel inhibitors with good inhibition constants against wild-type, double (C59R+SIOSN), triple (N51+C59R+SIOSN, C59R+S 1 OSN+I164L), and quadruple (N51+C59R+S108N+I164L) mutant enzymes. The compounds are also effective against wild type (Tm4/S.2) and mutants (K1CB1, W2, Cs1-2 and V1/S) malaria parasites.

  • Publication number: 20150048530
Abstract: In some embodiments, a humidification system includes a heater base having a heater plate, a humidification chamber, and circuit. The circuit can include various conduits, including an inspiratory conduit, expiratory conduit, Y-piece, patient conduit, and/or dry conduit. In use, the chamber contains a quantity of liquid. The heater base heats the heater plate, which in turn heats the liquid to a temperature that causes at least some of the liquid to become vapor, thereby humidifying the gases within the chamber. The gas is delivered to the patient via the inspiratory conduit. Various features can help control the system and ensure the patient receives gases having the desired conditions. These features can be used individually or in various combinations and subcombinations both in existing humidification systems and improved systems for respiratory humidification, laparoscopy, and other purposes.
