  • Publication number: 20150046191
Abstract: Various embodiments provide interfaces to access genomic testing information and incorporate it into daily physician practice. According to one aspect, a graph-based data model is used that may be used to organizes and revise precision medicine knowledge. In one example structure, gene states are abstracted into alteration groups, where alteration groups are built using reverse engineering actionable information and storing that information within the graph-based data structure. Volumes of genomic alterations and associated information (e.g., journal articles, clinical trial information, therapies, etc.) are analyzed and synthesized into actionable information items viewable on an alteration system in a graph-based data format. According to one embodiment, the system can be configured to focus practitioners on discrete portions of the alteration information on which they can act.

  • Patent number: 8890522
Abstract: The present disclosure is intended to describe embodiments for improving image data acquisition and processing in accelerated dynamic magnetic resonance imaging sequences. One embodiment is described where a method includes an acquisition sequence configured to acquire an undersampled set of magnetic resonance data. The undersampled set of magnetic resonance data has a pseudo-random sampling pattern within a data space acquired at a first time, the pseudo-random sampling pattern being influenced by other pseudo-random sampling patterns within the data space arising from the acquisition of additional undersampled sets of magnetic resonance data at respective times. In some embodiments, the pseudo-random sampling patterns of the undersampled sets of magnetic resonance data interleave to yield a desired sampling pattern.

  • Publication number: 20140288486
Abstract: In laparoscopic surgery, small (5-12 mm diameter) incisions are made in the abdominal wall through which instruments dissect and remove specimens that may be several centimeters in diameter. Removal of the sample typically requires either enlarging these incisions or morcellating the sample to pass through the sub-centimeter ports. The laparoscopic device permits extraction of the sample to be removed in a female using the vagina, which has sufficient elasticity to accommodate removal of large specimens. The posterior portion of the vagina communicates to the abdomen through a few tissue layers, and is distant from vital anatomic structures. Utilizing the vagina is optimal due to its ease of access to the abdomen and repair, minimal scarring and post-operative pain, and faster recovery following surgery. A deployable collection bag is housed in a sheath, which is deployed into the vagina or abdominal cavity to extract a large (multiple-centimeter) specimen(s) through the vagina.
