Abstract: Systems and methods for push button configuration of devices are provided. One system comprises one or more circuits configured to determine that a configuration button on the second device has been activated and determine whether a configuration button has been activated on a first device or a third device within a time interval from a time at which the button on the second device is activated. The circuits are configured to, in response to determining that the configuration button has been activated on either the first device or the third device within the time interval, allow the second device to be authenticated. The circuits are configured to, in response to determining that the configuration button has not been activated on either the first device or the third device within the time interval, prevent admission of the second device. The network may be a wired network, such as a MoCA network.

  • Patent number: 8908701
Abstract: Stream path selection within convergent networks. Any one or more different types of metrics (e.g., related to any one or more of delay, packet error rate (PER), link bit rate stability, etc.) may be attached to/associated with various messages communicated within such a convergent network. Such messages may correspond to talker advertise (TA) messaging session relay protocol data units (MSRPDUs). Messages may be advertised over each of or a number of different respective communication links. A communication path, which may be composed of a number of different respective communication links between respective communication devices such that each respective communication link has an associated at least one metric, maybe characterized using one or more of the metrics associated with those different respective communication links. A metric of the communication path may be associated with a relatively lowest metric of the different respective communication links composing the communication path.

  • Publication number: 20140210463
Abstract: A printed circuit includes a hole, a stack, one or more first coils, a magnetic core, and a pad. The hole passes through the vertically through the board to receive a conducting wire. The stack comprises metallization layers vertically stacked and separated mechanically from one another by electrically insulating layers. The first coils fulfill functions of a measurement coil and of an excitation coil. Each first coil has turns wound solely around the magnetic core. The magnetic core forms a first magnetic ring surrounding the hole and extending horizontally between metallization layers. Each turn of each first coil is formed by two conducting tracks produced, respectively, in metallization layers situated above and below the first magnetic ring. The pad passes through an insulating layer and passes through an interior of the magnetic ring, electrically linking the two conducting tracks.

  • Publication number: 20140198463
Abstract: A printed circuit has a creep suppressor and a stack of metallization layers separated by electrically insulating layers. A metallization layer arranged above the insulating layer at least partially covers a cavity formed in the latter's top face. Prepreg arranged directly on the insulating layer below the metallization layer bonds the layers together. A magnetic core is housed in the cavity leaves at least a five micrometer gap between the cavity's vertical walls and roof and the core's facing vertical and top faces. During stack assembly, the creep suppressor prevents prepreg from flowing, by creep, into the cavity until it contacts more than 20% of the core's top face.

  • Publication number: 20140160956
Abstract: Gateway based and centric network management and coordination. Coordination and management of delivery of a source sequence, that has possibly undergone adaptive bit rate (ABR) encoding upstream to generate a number of respective fragments that may have different respective bit rates associated therewith, to one or more downstream, user, or client devices is achieved via appropriate communication network management and coordination performed by one or more communication devices within the system. In one instance, a home gateway communication device operates to perform such coordination management of a convergent network or convergent digital home network (CDHN). Consideration of any one or more local and/or remote conditions, parameters, etc. may be employed by such an application to ensure effective delivery of a source sequence to one or more client devices.
