  • Publication number: 20140056138
Abstract: An example of a method of policing a flow in a home network such as a MoCA network may include calculating a policing period, calculating a first credit parameter, initializing a first usage variable at a beginning of the policing period, receiving a packet at an ingress node, calculating the first usage variable based on a first formula, determining whether the first usage variable is less than or equal to the first credit parameter, and making a reservation request when the first usage variable is less than or equal to the first credit parameter. The reservation request is different from an opportunistic reservation request. Examples of a system and a computer program product having instructions stored in a tangible computer-readable storage medium are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8660122
Abstract: A communication technique facilitates transmission of low rate traffic over communication nodes. The nodes may be, for example, MoCA nodes. The communication happens while keeping the nodes in ultra low power mode. Accordingly, the technique increases the communication capabilities and coverage of networked nodes without impacting the overall power consumption budget. In one implementation, the technique includes encapsulating a datagram into a datagram information element, appending the datagram information element to a discovery request message, and sending the discovery request message to a network controller. The network controller extracts the datagram information element and forwards it (e.g., by broadcasting) to ultra low powered nodes, for example in an admission control frame.

  • Publication number: 20140017243
Abstract: The invention concerns the use of human or humanized chimeric monoclonal antibodies which are produced in selected cell lines, said antibodies bringing about a high ADCC activity as well as a high secretion of cytokines and interleukins, for treating underpopulations of so-called weak-response patients exhibiting CD16 FCGR3A-158F homozygote or FCGR3A-158V/F heterozygote polymorphism.

  • Publication number: 20140012902
Abstract: A mobile device of a user discovers topological information about electronic devices in a premise environment, and shares such information with a media gateway. The media gateway uses the topological information to augment content from a server, such as a web page that supports access to media content, to add graphical objects corresponding to those electronic devices in proximity to the mobile device that are capable of reproducing the streaming media content. Selection of the one of the add-on graphical objects causes delivery of the media content to the corresponding electronic device instead of the display of the mobile device. In this manner, a more natural selection mechanism than that available using conventional pull-down lists of options is provided.

  • Publication number: 20140003331
Abstract: A technique to provide distributed wireless extenders over a MoCA specified coaxial cable backbone, in which the extenders function as wireless connection points on a network. The wireless extenders operate with a central access point controller that functions as the access point for the network, in which the extenders provide a plurality of wireless connection points for devices attempting to access the network. In one scheme, the MoCA backbone is used to transfer multimedia data using protocols such as LWAPP and CAPWAP.

  • Publication number: 20130347043
Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting packets over a network of communication channels are provide. A system according to the invention may include first and second nodes in communication with a coax backbone. The first node may further include a retransmission buffer. The system may also include a network access coordinator operative to coordinate access of the nodes to the coax backbone. In a time period at least one first packet is transmitted by the first node to the second node. The first packet may include an indication that retransmission service is applied. The first packet may also include a indication of the length corresponding to the packet. If, during the first time period the packet is not received by the second node, the second node is operative to send a retransmission request to the network access coordinator.

  • Patent number: 8611327
Abstract: Systems and methods for policing a Quality of Service (QoS) flow in a MoCA network are provided. The network may include a sending node, a receiving node and a network controller. The network controller may allocate a QoS flow between the sending node and the receiving node. The sending node may request bandwidth for the QoS flow from the network controller. QoS requests have a higher priority than some other requests and may swamp the network. The sending node therefore polices its use of the network. First, the sending node computes a policing time period Tpp. Next the sending node computes a packet and bit allocation for the use of the network during a Tpp. Last the sending node sends reservation requests to the network controller when the allocation of packet or bits has not been exceeded. If any allocation has been exceeded the sending node reserves bandwidth via opportunistic reservation requests which have a lower priority than some other requests.

  • Publication number: 20130322445
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for implementing a control plane in hybrid networks. A coordinated shared network may correspond to a distributed bridge, and a control plane may be implemented in one of the nodes of the coordinated shared network. A hybrid network may support multiple heterogeneous networking technologies. A hybrid network device, such as a gateway, may support multiple different coordinated shared networks, each corresponding to distributed bridges. The control planes for the distributed bridges may be implemented in the hybrid network device.

A superimposition, in a plane parallel to the metallization layers, of the conductive tracks of the coil, made in a first metallization layer and a second metallization layer, that are immediately consecutive in the vertical direction, forms a pattern having two axial symmetries relative to X and Y axes orthogonal to each other and parallel to the metallization layers. The conductive tracks of each of the superimposed metallization layers are devoid, of themselves, of axial symmetry relative to the X or Y axes.

  • Patent number: 8345553
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for reducing latency in coordinated networks. The apparatus and methods relate to a protocol that may be referred to as the Persistent Reservation Request (“p-RR”), which may be viewed as a type of RR (reservation request). p-RR's may reduce latency, on average, to one MAP cycle or less. A p-RR may be used to facilitate Ethernet audiovisual bridging.
